Description
The lives of millions drift in the glassy skin and concrete veins of Auranyx megacity. This story follows Mal in his efforts as he attempts to rise from his birthright of another slum rat among thousands ground up in the teeth of the city every day to instead carve out a better life for himself and those he cares about, willing to take the steps he needs to, even when his life is in danger. He stood no chance of ever making it far with the city powers and corporate interests keeping the status quo as it was, but a chance encounter with a corporate prototype offers just enough of a edge to tear open the rotten flesh from the underbelly of the city itself and pull himself forward.
Maybe just enough of an edge to get him all he's dreamed of. If he can survive.
Inspired by Neuromancer, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun and the Royal Road worksGhost In The City,Cyber Dreams,GodcladsandNeon Dragons.

- DaithiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you like classic cyberpunk you should check this story out. We start with a young protagonist which makes us realize how shitty a cyberpunk setting actually is. The kid, Mal, has a freak encounter and this accelerates his path as an edgerunner, or operator.
He has a few friends to keep us interested and a very interesting world unfolds as Mal learns more about the world.
Well worth a read.
