Inheritance of Fate

On its maiden voyage, the cruise ship Andromeda was the first to witness the Spire re-emerge from the depths of the ocean. Inside, those who spawned the myths and legends of ancient empires and civilisations did their duty, bringing about the re-emergence of mana to a world starved of its existence. At the bidding of their suffering Master, humanity’s course is irrevocably changed.

Forty years since the peace was violently shattered, humanity has adapted and changed. Dungeons, created by the mysterious beings of The Spire, open everywhere, spilling monsters and dangerous creatures out on those who fail to control them. No longer just stories and fantasies, warriors and mages risk their lives to reap the bounties within the dungeons, fighting tooth and nail to survive.

Sadie Whittaker is one of them. Born into a world where strength means everything, she has struggled and languished. Graduating from the Academy, she found a team that looked past the failure she was and accepted her. Content with the life she was building for herself, one night, a life-or-death situation forces a mysterious benefactor to intervene.

Unravelling the clues left behind by their intervention, Sadie must work to lift the veil that has been placed over her eyes. Little by little, the truth comes out, the Strings of Fate that bind her are plucked from the shadows. Fate has a role everyone must play, and she realises that she must accept all that is offered, as a wolf prowls in the darkness beyond the light of the campfire. History holds secrets so terrible that she will discover the lengths someone will go to for love.
