Description
Growing up in the swamps of Ahkula as one of the Lizardfolk tribesmen who called themselves Saurian, Marduk expected to go about his newly acquired life without many issues, choosing to adopt the ways and culture of the bipedal crocodilians he'd been born to. This was all the case until the day he'd witnessed his mothers passing from the awful "Curse of Self" which set about a chain of events that would change his new life forever.

It amazes me sometimes when I find an excellent story without any reviews after being up for a while.
Characters:
This is where this story shines brightest.
Our MC Marduk is an amazing tragic figure in the first few arcs. His 'lizard brain' restrains his emotions, but not in the dumb 'I have no emotions dur hur' way. This facet of who he is is so well done, I can't help but grieve along with him for what he's lost.
We see his motivation to grow tied to this grief very quickly. Its a sad motivation, but well done.
The supporting cast is well done too. The people around our MC feel real, though the good-byes as companions come and go felt abrupt.
spoiler:
Poor Minerva She deserved a proper goodbye even if Marduk's actions made sense!
Grammar:
Nothing to complain about here. When I don't notice grammar you're doing it right. :-)
Story:
There isn't a big, overarching plot that I can see as of ch.20. Our MC seems to be traveling as a way to honor the memory of someone from his previous life. This leads him to meet a lot of new people.
Style:
My only complaint (and it's a minor thing that's just personal preference) is the change in POV we start seeing in ch.20. There's good reason for it, and I think it's an effective way to show the reader how Marduk is changing. I still prefer not to have a change in POV like that for the same character midway into a story.
Now for the good things story wise.
Ichor does a good job of using cadence to create an easy to read flow. Breaks are well placed, and the sprinkling of short punchy sentences add a form of emphasis I love when used correctly.
Chapters are long enough to feel the story is progressing while still being short enough for a quick read. I wish we got them more frequently, but I'd rather have good than fast.
Keep up the good work Mr Author! - DrexisRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is a great little story I found with a very interesting perspective. While the author does seem to have difficulty portraying "lizard brain" I think they're doing a great job and learning as they write which is what every author should do.
Non-human leads are rare as far as I can tell and this is one of my favorites. I wish the author luck on their writing journey and look forward to following along.
Edit:
Ending was a little forced, too many things left unfinished. But I did enjoy the ride
