Description
When Wake Utono’s world is shattered by the Sea Titan, the young sailor vows to stop at nothing to take his revenge. But even as he begins his journey into Knighthood, to fight alongside those warriors and alchemists capable of turning the Titans’ own power against them, he begins to suspect that the ‘systems’ of Falrok War College are missing something. Hollow, pale imitations of something more powerful… Just like the relics on Gail’s wall… With humanity on the brink of collapse beneath the weight of the Titans, and the vast, wild domains claimed by their spawn, Wake must start with nothing but a single axe on his path to becoming the greatest Knight ever. But the paths to power are broken. The system of progression is missing. So what does it take to wake a sleeping god? And what else might he disturb in the process? 🌌 A litRPG where only echoes of the system are apparent (at first) 🏴☠️ Gritty MC who claws his way to his first powers before long steady grind to OP’ness 🏰 Magic school in a grimdark world (familiars, blessed/cursed gear, eldritch monsters) 🖤 Romance is hard when you’re more worried about getting eaten… 🗓️ Updates M-Th 🌟 Follow along for bonus chapters 📚 200k word backlog as of launch ⚡ Read ahead onPatreon

- 23darkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Im not a top notch reviewer mostly doing this to offset all the 0.5s that new authors often get . But I've been enjoying the story so far. Most people read the synopsis and sometimes gets the feel like it's a Attack on Titan rip so far I haven't gotten that feeling. There's some parts I find a little slow or lackluster mostly the interludes tbh but those are mostly the world building away from our main pov . But yesh good stuff read the first like 6 or 8 chapters and you'll probably have a good idea what the story is about and make a solid judgement call then .
- CracyfloRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Basically what the title said, good characters, clear motivations, strong plot and interesting setting. The Romance interests feel kinda random but other than that, solid gold until now.I am very expectant to see where this story will go from here, what further progression will be like and what ne characters will be introduced. I hope the story keeps the quality amd pace it has now, because if it does, holy moly it's gonna be one hell of a ride.Made me wanna go to patreon to read ahead, and that's rare for sure
- Dragon FireRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I think this story is a more unique and diverse take on the Attack on Titan. Thirteen chapters in and I'm fully drawn in.Wave's personal thoughts are captivating as we see a young man learning that the life of a knighthood may not be as glamorous or wholesome as it isWe see a snippet of what the monsters can do and although we see their terrible influence onto the people, their paranoia, their mantra and amongst others, it's clear something made these monsters terrifying enough for humanity to be constantly on the losing side of the war.And it's clear this war has been ongoing for some time now.In addition, I do like the story's take on the System of this story. It's not some game interface, not yet presumably if the author's words are any indication.
- Happy AppleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The author does a lot of things right. My favorite aspect of the book currently is the lack of information and how we are learning as the character themselves learn. Basically no big info dump. On top of that, the character themselves feel unique. No cardboard cut outs. Each character has their own motivation and you can feel it though the text. A big plus is that the fight scenes are awesome too.
although this isn’t a kingdom/base building novel, I feel like it has the potential to be for some reason. 10/10 def have the check this novel out - I'm PandaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I gotta say, I saw a review that referenced attack on titan and I almost didn't read this thinking it was a fanfic, I'm very relievedThis is good, real good so far, maybe even a staple on this website, I look forward to seeing where this all goes, maybe even support the patreon on the way there
- ThunderstruckRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The writing is superb, with the characters well thought out. I adore the set up, and it is very atmospheric, I feel like I'm really there. There's a couple of clunk parts, but even with it being this new, you can tell it will be a gem. It feels like a darker, moodier Sky Pride. A lot of "What makes civilization work" but it's more grim.
- TwyrMRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story has captured me like few others can do on RR. Each of the characters feels so real each with their own clear motivations that is slowly explored without losing sight of the overall story. The pace is perfect without any useless chapters. I could not recommend this book enough!
- omniknight2008Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far, Titans seems to tick all my boxes: solid prose; intriguing worldbuilding which, interestingly, includes a purposefully incomplete (at this point) power system; likable enough characters; gritty, deadly, and well-described combat. I also appreciate that, given the character deaths already, no one (but the MC, ofc) seems truly safe from sudden death.
- MororomonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you like Attack on Titan, these are the vibes you will get from this story. Every plot point tries to draw you into the human struggle of it all, and then you are ripped back into reality with the sudden reintroduction of the monsters. The Titans and Titanspawn are excellent narrative devices and slowly learning more of the lore about them with VERY little overt exposition is a treat. The story is quite dark in terms of violence and content, but the humanity of the characters actions in juxtaposition to monstrosity of the Titans and how they overlap and differ is truly a delight. Great read, extremely excited to see the plot get going (the story says slow burn and it MEANS IT). 5/5, 10/10, 100/100, please keep making more!
- TelpinquarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really like the way this book is written and the characters are developed. I came for the system building but stayed for the characters living through a Hunger Games esque trial, delivered in an awesome way, with character insights being slowly and organically revealed. If the description made you even a bit curious definitely give it a try I was immediately hooked
