- BladeGripRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Firstly, I want to say that this is actually the very first LitRPG fiction I read in this site so I have nothing to compare with yet. But overall, I've had a pretty good impression. This was also the first time I see that the stat numbers translate in correlation with the actual physique of the person (e.g. A healthy adult with 12 strength is probably still stronger than a kid with 20 strength) and that's a nice touch.
Style seems to get better after 10 or so chapters, but still needs some more polishing in the formatting. Skill names could be bolded in addition to the brackets. Also, I think there's no need to insert "Wipe, write" whenever Saya does it.
{Breaking into a new line should be enough.}
{Like this. The implication is clear enough, right?}
{Feel free to disagree, though.}
Grammar looks generally fine. There were several minor errors but they didn't stop me from enjoying the ride, and like the style it gets better over time.
One thing I heard recently is that in LitRPG with a defined system, the main character should be able to break the system rule in one way or another to keep things interesting. I'm guessing that the companion creature Saya gets after her involuntary class change will be a key to achieving it? We also get to see beings of divinity and how their way of thinking is different from mortals, which is a good touch.
Your work is not bad overall, and you seem to be tirelessly adding more. Keep it up and continue to improve yourself. Good luck. - assasinRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Overall I'm impressed. The combat is fluid and exciting. And the class system makes me want to learn more. It's got slightly too many numbers for my personal tastes; but it's a litrpg so I'm sure that'll be very popular on Royal Road. I think level ups are slightly too often. It’s not a major issue early in the story but it could lead to an OP main character later on. That said the mechanic of transferring xp is an interesting one I’d like to see more of.
Style wise it needs more paragraph breaks. There are too many walls of text that are hard on the eyes. Also I'd bold some the skills, attributes and classes. It makes them easier to spot than just putting them between braces. They're both pretty minor complaints.
The characters could use some work. Saya doesn't feel like a thirteen year old. She is way too self-assured and her combat intuition is pretty over the top. But I like that her disability is a real disability and not just an interesting character trait. She actually has to struggle to communicate and it makes a real difference in combat situations. Her abilities are quite powerful for low levels. I’d like to see Maladrain get some more development to compensate.
