OP, immortal, isekaid (of some sort) MC seems to have lost their humanity through their eons of life, but still manages to be very capable at social interaction. They do stereotypical, quippy OP MC actions of exploring the world and learning about the society, then wanders off to play with souls or kill people for amusement to stave off their ennui, only to return right back to normal isekai shenanigans.
Feels like what I imagine serial killers to be like. Charismatic socialite in public with occasional bouts of horrifying hobbies.

It is worth mentioning that there have been a number of OP MC stories that have people coming back from x or being born from y coming out recently on royal road, under new releases or new updates; I have been looking for a good one for a while now, and while some might deserve an honorable mention, i won't. This one rocks. The other ones I eventually put down. This one? Only having 20 chapters is murder lol. Must know what happens neeeext

This one started somewhat alright - wasn't anything special, not bad either, but as I kept reading... holy moly, the later chapters just ramp up the drama and character interactions to a simply sublime level.
It is a big challenge to write an interesting and engaging OP protagonist, and as we all know, a well written protagonist makes or breaks the story - the author manages to do that and more. MC does not just go around and blast everyone to smithereens (although that happens as well), she's rightfully arrogant and domineering, but also struggles with her inner(?) demons, forges new connections, discovers some long buried feelings, it's just great.
The writing in general is really good, even the switching POVs, which I personally think are a terrible bane of any work of fiction, do not detract from overall quality.
So yeah, definitely recommended.

Good so far. An isekai, sort of. Main character is one of the oldest beings in the world but is quite mentally unstable and has regrets that she keeps sealed away. She seals herself away in her private world, when she went in regular magic world when she comes out there is a system and little is as she remembers. Good potential as the main arch of the story seems to be her healing over her previous mental trauma. Will follow.

Just wanted to drop a review to say this is great! Super well written(and I'm a huge stickler for that). Really interesting plot with a lot of juicy mysteries. Love how info is withheld it keeps me coming back for more! One of my favorite aspects is the dynamic between the MC and her elemental companion. Definitely pick this up if you're looking for a promising OP MC story with a genuinely mysterious protagonist!

I really love this book, the way the characters act, feel and evolve. One wish would be to see the MC or aska through normal peoples eyes a bit more.
There is a lot of introspection and the plot twist keep coming but it is unique and is a gem to read. Keep up the great work! :D
