I Keep Reincarnating, Why Is He Still Alive?

Description
[Longevity + Discipleship + No Female Lead + Lighthearted Humor with No Tragic Moments]
When his master picks food, he spins the table there;
When his master chants spells, he chats without a care;
When his master takes rest, he sings a lively song;
When his master lies late, he bangs the pot along;
His master lives on long, but his life is rather short;
His master lays him down on the hillside, as a sort;
His master lifts a cup, but he won’t take a drink;
His master shares a tale, but he won’t stop to think;
His master holds a feast, but he leaves the table wide;
His master calls his soul, but he’s nowhere to abide.
Spring returns to the hills, with blooms so bright and fair,
Yet master and disciple are parted, one in heaven, one elsewhere.

- SchrodingerscatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a story I wish I could create myself. It’s classic xianxia told from the perspective of an immortal—a tale of this immortal training disciples and witnessing their fates after they leave his mountain. Ignore the "no tragedy" tag in the summary, because, this story is packed with so many feels.
The style is dreamy, concise, and fluid, which works beautifully to enhance its impact. The story is character-driven, and as someone who loves that, I found it amazing! The grammar and writing quality are typical of Chinese webnovels—not overly polished, but effective. If you don’t enjoy lengthy, overly descriptive works like those in classic fantasy, this story will likely appeal to you. If you prefer that kind of dense writing, though, this might not be for you.
The characters are the true highlight. They feel alive—complex and self-destructive, as humans often are. Their struggles and failures, particularly when they succumb to their base desires, make the story profoundly moving. Profoundly sad. Overall, it is a story of immortals and the humans around them. A immortal who unlike the immortals seen in many a webnovel as uncaring… is someone who weeps and cries. Someone who feels still the emotions of life. It is a story that has made me tear up. It is a hidden gem. - aphoselRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style:
For how it's written, this style is perfect. Brief, airy, fleeting -- an immortal's view of the mundane. I believe the style adds a hundred fold to the value of reading it. Honestly, if it had a more thick, chunky style, it would be detrimental.

The writing style has been consistently polished and well-written. The author is capable and willing to pour emotions into a character that the reader will feel. Actions made by the characters are believable, and while disappointing, it is in their nature to make the choices they have.
Grammar:
For the same reason style is so high, grammar is going to be lowered. Everything is brief. Writing-wise, it's on a generally 'lower level.' However, despite the airy writing, it's standard if not better-than most printed Xianxia/Wuxia novels out there. That being said, the main pull in this story is the emotional factor. Somehow, despite only three chapters, I'm deeply invested in each character. I felt a tear in my eye at the end of chapter 2.

Grammar has been consistent. No changes: Not the best or most well-written novel out there, but it is still highly polished for what it is, and it is incredibly consistent.
Story:
The story is good so far. Can't say much, as it's only three chapters in, and I haven't seen much of the overall plot. From what I have seen, it will be amazing. RIP Gu Yigou/Gu Yuan.

The story is easily the best aspect. The plot carries over, themes are maintained, lessons are learned. The Main Character, Tao Mian, is a caring and loving man who has learned a lot from each and every disciple. He is changed by circumstances, he grieves, and is realistic. Everything builds exactly where it needs to, before it ends and is complete.
Character:
Not much to say. The characterization is alright, and manages to form an emotional bond between reader and character relatively easily. There isn't much depth in the characters, but you do feel connected to them in a way a lot of - Astral CrystalRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: The style is good although some parts sound like bit peculiar, like English might not be the authors native language. That might just be a misunderstanding on my part but either way the style is good and easy to understand.
Story: The story is excellent, basically the mc has a system which gives him Immortality but he can only grow in Cultivation by getting Disciples. The story basically revolves around mc and his Disciples and how he deals with them and their eventual departure by moving onto the next one. The synopsis definitely tricked me, this story does have sad moments. I even got kind of emotional twice which is a new for me but I don't usually read stuff with such sad parts. Even though there are very sad and emotional parts it's not completely Soul crushing or I would have dropped it and never written this review. So some sad parts but I'd say it's mostly cheerful with hints of dread and eventual depression until the cycle starts anew. One double edged sword is that the story doesn't explain everything. The story talks about techniques and ultivation and gu etc but never explains any of it or how it works. This isn't really the focus of the story so it doesn't matter that much but I'd like an explanation please. Also some stuff you have to make guesses about or interpret stuff, the story gives you details throughout but it's up to you to put it all together which is good but can still leave story stuff a bit unclear. This could be the author waiting to reveal and explain stuff later on but for now some plot points are a tad unfinished or not explored.
Grammar: The grammar is great I don't remember seeing any errors.
Characters: The characters are excellent. The mc is very good, he's super old and lazy yet acts childish sometimes, he also had a few boomer moments but considering his age it makes sense. He's all around a great guy and goes through lots of
Emotional struggle and trauma. I think this is tackled well in the story. The mc is flawed but sti - LifeOfConfusionRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Why should you read this story?
Because it’s damn good is why. Originally I came into the story expecting a bland snack of a read, without much substance turned out to be both an engrossing and complicated meal.
Despite the name of the story, and the blurb, the main protagonist is “Tian”, the immortal of Plum Blossom mountain. At the start of the story he has spent 1000 years on the mountain waiting for his golden finger, the longevity system to activate.
When it finally does, he gathers disciples, all of whom have a whole lot of main character energy, including tragic background. The story is really about his relationship with these disciples. Sadly, they all seem to be cursed with tragic hero’s and villain plot lines, and we have to watch as Tina loses his disciples, one after another.
But that is why I love this story so much. Most people would do their best to distance themselves from the inevitable pain of losing people they care about, or force those people to stay on the mountain where he could keep them safe. Instead Tian lets them make their own choices, and continues to make a connection with his disciples despite knowing he will most likely outlive them.
In the end, this fiction really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it, and the author threw in plenty of humor to balance out the sad. It’s worth a read. - milgitaRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Bro every single arc makes me cry. Are you serious right now? I’m very much enjoying the book, but I feel so betrayed. Sure, it’s funny sometimes - very funny, even. But I didn’t open the book to cry. Why you do dis? Yes, immortal stories like this should always make you cry. But let me brace myself first. Don’t promise me no tragedies and then punch me in the gut, bro
- ArockalypseRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0it does an excellent job at portraying how a true immortal would probably actually behave like, someone who is truly timeless. Most of the chapters are framed as tragedy, as what else could the life of an immortal be but tragic having to outlive his disciples every time. Thus in classic tragedy form, you understand the rough course of what will happen chapters ahead of the payoff.
The only notable flaw I've experienced is the story tends to linger a bit to long quite often. Never too much at once, but it accumulates. Events are described with 1 sentence too much, memories are brought back 1 too many times, some of the themes I outlined above are written a bit too explicitly (like a spoonfed type of way).
The excess is small enough to be considered nitpicking if I were to go after each in isolation, but it's pervasive enough to noticeably impact my reading experience. Not enough to stop of course - ElvenDenRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0If you want to read a light and fun story, then feel free to pass by. Here you'll find a feeling of impending tragedy and sadness.
This story tells how a carefree immortal takes a disciple, releases them into the world, a student does something cruel on the way to power, upsets their Shi Fu, and after several decades they die full of regret, MC suffers for some time, and then the system throws him the next disciple. The wheel of Samsara makes an another turn.
It is also worth noting that the entire fiction is machine translated into English, so there are some inconsistencies in the text, as well as untranslatable jokes with names. This is especially noticeable when you realize that the description of the fiction and even its title have nothing to do with the work itself.
Despite all this, I enjoyed reading this fiction, but with the appearance of the Fifth Disciple, I decided that this is where I end my acquaintance with this story.
Although at first it seems that the Protagonist is just a carefree lazy person, he sincerely loves his disciples, honest with them, can even sacrifice his ideals for them, and endlessly respects their right to freedom of choice, which, unfortunately, leads them to a life full of regrets and a painful death. - AGuyWithNoMustacheRoyal Road★ 0.5Heavy influence of AI, the author is as lazy as his own character, the short paragraph is annoying, the jokes are force and weird.
Character development is bad..so bad, we only got 2 chapter of interaction with the first disciple before he died, and suddenly there's a 2nd disciple appearing on the 4th chapter
The other viewer said it's an 'Emotional.' read, like huh? How can it be emotional when there's no sense of time and deep interaction between the characters? How can you have sympathy for a character that only appear on 2 chapter?
I'm ashamed of myself because this piece of effortless novel appeared on my recommended list...
