Desmond, an ancient spirit, resides within the eerie confines of the Haunted Sinerman Mansion atop a desolate hill. For as long as memory serves, Des has been the sole inhabitant of this spectral abode. Her existence unfolds languidly, punctuated more by the passage of years than by the rare visits of the living. Often, she whiles away the hours in slumber, her ethereal form drifting through the hazy realms of dreams.

However, one fateful day shatters the tranquility of Des's nocturnal repose. Amidst the silence, cries pierce the air, rousing her from her slumber. Intruders have breached the sanctuary of her mansion. It has been an eternity since Desmond last encountered the living, and now, she observes with keen interest as a captive young girl and her captor.

The world Des inhabits teems with individuals known as Spiritualists, capable of forging contracts with mystical creatures and harnessing their arcane powers. Young Aren finds himself ensnared by circumstances, driven to commit a heinous deed to boost his own strength. Yet, he has gravely erred in choosing the Haunted Sinerman Mansion as the stage for his crime.

This was Des's home, and as if she would allow anyone to do whatever they wanted in her home.
