Description
A man on a mission to conquer the world…of coffee!
Ryu, a 20-year-old shut-in working a dead-end job as a barista, dreams of a lavish lifestyle being waited on hand and foot (some cute maids would be nice). When a freak accident delivers Ryu an untimely death, he is unceremoniously transported to the world of Cerulia where knights, dragons, and faeries alike are not concepts of old or creatures of fantasy, but very real and particularly dangerous.
Ryu finds himself in the peaceful Kingdom of Kaffa, far from the conflicts of warring states. In this kingdom, the currency is coffee, status is coffee, and fame is coffee. It’s the dream of every aspiring Coffee Brewer here to join the ranks as one of the monarch’s Royal Brewers. It’s a place ripe for the taking with his skillset.
There’s just one catch: outside the kingdom lay untamed wilds that defy the laws of nature, populated by strange and savage flora and fauna. Sourced in these wilds, ingredients for coffee are difficult to come by, and foraging for them is a perilous undertaking. Can Ryu manage to navigate this seemingly treacherous lifestyle? Or will he succumb to the dangers that lurk within the Wildlands?
Testing out a new series. Feel free to comment with your thoughts as this is my first attempt at an Isekai/LitRPG (Please be nice).

- GodSlayer123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good pacing and writing, no obvious grammar or spelling mistakes and a excellent premise lead to a well thought out story that is a delight to read, much like sipping a good cuppa.
The humour is also on point and the characters feel like real people, no instant backstory spills but also no holding back just for the sake of mystery. - SkarabraeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0To start things off, I have almost no complaints about this story. It is absolutely amazing, one of my favorites on Royal Road. Now, to get into specific details:
Grammar: I couldn't find any mistakes. There might be some that I missed, but that should show that they weren't distracting, at least for me.
Style Score: The pacing of the story is pretty much perfect. The word choice conveys both the story's tone and the actions. There weren't all that many literary devices from what I could tell. I don't mind this; however, I had to dock the style score for it because literary devices are part of the rating. Aside from that, the writing is definitely unique towards the author's style.
Story Score: The story is very fitting for this sort of thing. There is a high emphasis on coffee, as is to be expected, and character development. The pacing is pretty much perfect. It also incorporates the overall demon king plot incredibly well while keeping the focus on coffee. I couldn't do it better myself. The comedy is also very good. It's character based and fits them very well. And speaking of the characters...
Character Score: The characters are the best part of this story. They are all distinct with their own voices and clear personality traits. They have great chemistry and mesh with each other well. It's a great joy to see them interact with each other as well as their progression. They are as realistic as they should be in a story like this, and they are fairly 3 dimensional too. For example, the heroic characters have flaws, mostly for comedic effect, which is very fitting in this story. - TraxlerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Normally I'd label this style of novel "literary crack," on account of its short chapters, fast development, constant level ups, progressiveness, and the like, but I feel the obligatory duty to use a close-enough pun just because.
That said, while this novel's brand new, there are enough chapters that I'm surprised there's not a review yet, and I feel it deserves one.
Style: Classic web novel. The MC wakes up in another world, gets a cheat mentor, finds himself in a hellish environment, levels up fast, and it's just a non-stop level-up cheat-character adventure.
Combined with short chapters and fast pacing, it's the literary caffeine that I search for when my brain can't even handle Netflix. That's a valid reason to read web novels over traditional books, and if you're like me and looking for that, you're in for a treat.
Grammer: It's not perfect, but it's above standard. That's a judge of a five-star rating for me with free, updated daily novels, and I think it's fair. The sentence structure is good, there are very few typos, and while there are some stylistic things like using adverbs, they're not actual problems.
I do love that the author uses a lot of show not tell, rolling eyes, various types of smiles, sly, wry, grin, and uses bodily movements and mannerisms, which is a sign of good writing and someone that really cares.
Story: The novel's true to its point. I think a solid sign of good writing is whether the chapter titles are plot oriented. You can see titles like The First Brew, Cocao Town, Mocha Showdown, and Dark Elves' Brew. That pretty much proves it right off the bat.
So many stories get derailed on these side things, and you can see that while there are a lot of side adventures that help break up the slice of life and make it interesting, they're short, snappy, and move you back to what you came here for.
The story's set up for long term barista stuff. So I don't expect this to be one of the classic farmer novels that farms for 0.5 seconds, levels up, - XavimRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Multiple parts had me laughing between the characters.looking forward to this playing out.
A very interesting take on the genre and every few chapters some type of coffee comes out in a chefs battle so to speak. Looking forward more to the coffee side vs the adventure side. Also maybe cat maids one day in the party. - rrname12321Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well done light hearted action comedy about a young coffee store employee isekaied into a world with the basic Japanese isekai premise. If you enjoyed those at all you will most likely enjoy this. Good characters and the story is moving at a decent pace. Liking how fun the story feels. Feels good after reading a certain grimdark cultivation story.
- moucesterRoyal Road★★★ 3.0When reading this book, I got a distinct feeling that I was reading anime. While the premise is fine, the execution lacks cohesion. There are a lot of characters that are constantly introduced and then dumped unceremoniously. Everything feels rushed and completely underdeveloped. Characters are rarely fleshed out, their descriptions are practically non-existent, and the story is extremely railroaded into new situations that have little to no meaning for character development. I like the idea a lot and I think the ideas presented have merit. But I feel the book needs a rewrite to make it truly shine.
