Description
Somewhere on the Endless Sea.
The Border Mist materialized abruptly, shrouding the once calm and grey expanse of the sea. The impenetrable veil of white mist lingered persistently, its undulations akin to a living organism, before eventually receding and vanishing, erasing its existence entirely. In the space that had been occupied solely by the sea's surface, an island emerged, boasting a serene town and a grandiose gothic palace that appeared to cast a watchful gaze upon the city.
As the mist traversed the streets, it gradually unveiled the picturesque Victorian-style city. Dim street lamps cast a faint glow upon the cobblestones, revealing numerous statues of varied sizes, shapes, and race. These statues all shared a common trait—they were oriented toward the Gothic palace.
Within the opulent throne room stood a resplendent seat of power. Positioned before the throne were additional statues, all bowing in deference to the statue of the Ruler seated upon it. Draped in a cloak, the Ruler exuded an eerie and oppressive aura, even in statue form. Silence permeated the room; no motion, life, or breath stirred.
Unexpectedly, the eyes of the Ruler's statue ignited with cerulean flames.
'Ah... what... what's...' Caila pondered as her vision cleared, the memory of darkness faintly lingering.
Surveying the hushed hall, she beheld eerie statues bent in obeisance. 'What happened? Ugh... why... why can't I move?' Caila found herself immobilized; only her eyes retained mobility. She strained her gaze downward, catching a glimpse of her hands resting on the throne's armrests. 'Am I a statue? Wha... what? No! Help! Someone, save me!' Internally, she shrieked in panic, met only by an overwhelming silence.

- WitchiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is lovely. Very creative, an original concept. Full of life, and vigor. Reminds me of The lord of Mysteries.(LOTM). I like how everything can be visualized, creating an image in my head. I feel as though the author put love and effort into this creation. I love the mysterious vibe. The different gods and creativity in the making, how funny and mysterious Hellcage is. It has OG (original) concepts everywhere. And they go well together. Honestly I haven't read a book to keep me this hooked since (MHOH). The ambiguous atmosphere is what gives it some spark. Along with the joke every now and then. I rate this so highly. This book needs more love. It's too good to simply pass up.
The reason why I think it's similar to LOTM is because they each have their own OG concepts. (And God themed)
I feel as though this book has some nice spooky/creepy elements as well. I remember when the author said that one of the spooky scenes they made was a childhood game of theirs, which really got me. I like how this author puts in elements that keep ya wondering.
Of course this is all my opinion. Give it a read and give yours. - EvenaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a beautiful blend of steampunk and fantasy. It has its unique vibe that I felt while I was reading the fantastic beasts book.
Style wise it is really good.
Story wise this can be compared with high end fantasy stories. I love it.
Grammar. For a grammatical blind person as me I did not find many mistakes. The only things that pricked me was when from the others pov when they were assuming Caila's identity. Sometimes they went with she or he. I would like the author to use it or they when the other party is in assumption stage. I was confused when this he or.she was alternating.
Character wise each had their distinction voice. No character was second to the other. They had their places and it was clearly shown.

The characters have their own personalities and seems realistic. I especially liked the combination of the duo.
Overall, it's good story for those who likes horror. - LordGrim22Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Interesting. So far this novel seems very interesting and I hope that the author will continue writing it. I also love the fact that it’s has anti hero and horror tags on it so I’m very excited to see what will happen in future chapters. I also love the fact that the MC Is a god and is trying to act as one. Hopefully she will also try to act as an anti hero god in later chapters too
- QueenInRagsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Sure it has its flaws, but overall I quite enjoyed this story. Even if the description was a little overbearing at first.
Starting off with a strong note, all the characters mentioned are unique and memorable in their own little way. Emotional beats fill most chapters, although nothing has cooked for too long.
Overall, the spelling / diction was solid, and the world building was supreme. I binged through all available chapters quite quickly and I really cant wait for more. The chapter sizes are all quite nice and everything fits together well.
Overall, my only critique would be a little bit of deus x machina creeping into everyones view of the main character. Sure they are an overpowered individual slowly awakening in a deeply flawed world, but from what we have seen so far they mostly exist in shades of good / perfect. Furthermore, they have yet to really meet a large looming challenge so far. Sure there is mystery, and constant hints towards greater things, but I feel as if a little existential dread / motivation would be good here and there. I'm not saying give the Mc something that destroys their little following, but a hole in reality that they could stare at in existential horror would be appreciated. Maybe these horrific looming evils could help explain the state of the world / why certain gods act the way they do besides being arses.
Overall 10/10 story cant wait for it to get bigger and bigger. - Brainballer12Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Love this novel, update rate is a little strange but it's a good novel one of a kind novel. It'd got a good power system that's not overly jumbled. And our mc is a god but still personal and not distant.....YET....The. creativity is excellent on the authors part as well.
- OrmVeraOrBokRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I saw somebody else's review strategy once where they used a fixed system for reviews, 2-star readable, 3-star good, 4-star amazing, 5-star just outright incredible. So I'm gonna use it aswell.
First off, the style kind of reminds me of lord of the mysteries which is amazing. I'll also say, it doesn't just copy the same style, it just feels similar which gives the story an amazing allure.
No problems with the story, at all. It's gripping and feels like it's going somewhere without random details, and it gets on with it - no feet dragging. My only issue is the
council of gods or whatever it is
. not an actual issue tho, more like a personal grievance and won't put me off at all.
I haven't noticed any issues with the grammar despite what some people say. That doesn't mean there arent any, I just probably missed it as, as long as it's comprehensible it's easy enough to skim over it.
Characters are well written and have enough depth for this point in the story, however I hope to see some more development of characters we already have rather than the amount of recurring characters increasing in the short term.
I already love this story, I actually think I'll cry if it goes on hiatus or gets dropped, there's so much potential for the story to go on. Well done author. - Ray7Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Not a really big Fan of the story and the “passive”MC. But I do get it and I understand it’s context.
I’m not going to continue with this book but I do recommend everyone to at least check it out. The characters are well written and fun. The management type setting is well structured and quite good to understand.
I like the implementation of the art despite it being AI generated.
The reason I don’t want to continue reading is just personal preference and has nothing to do with the book on its own.
I thank the author for giving me a new experience to enjoy and wish everyone who continues reading a lot of fun doing so - Reader0101Royal Road★★★★ 4.0A pretty solid story. NGL, I binged it in 3 days.
I enjoyed it, even if it’s held back on multiple fronts.
In sum, Worth a read, but it has issues. I won’t delve deeper into the sometimes weird-dialogues or exposition that I find way too much, or the bloated word count. With the way it’s written this story should reach 3-10K page count before we reach a satisfying end, and well, most people or at least I rarely read books that long.
I’d advise that if a character only appears 1-2 times in 400 pages skip the overly long descriptions. There is no need if they appear only a couple times, a name and a title, and maybe one unique identifier is enough. Sometimes less is more…
The pictures are a nice touch. - EltaloRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I like the mc a lot, the soul searching (litteraly) and her determination.
So far, the goddess showed a bit of power, can't wait to see her unleashed!!à
The other characters are all uniques and not bland as well. They have a depth to them that is interesting .
Author, please continue this great book!!! I want to read more!
