Hyperion Evergrowing: A Monster Evolution LitRPG

Description
Leif Vin is mortally wounded and left for dead at the conclusion of a devastating battle.
The squad he commanded have either fallen or abandoned the fight, and as dawn breaks, all that that remains are the distant cries of the few who yet who cling to life.
But for some, this is not the end, for opportunistic creatures stalk the aftermath of bloody conflict, claiming the dead and dying for their own malevolent purposes. One such being, an entity of twisted and blighted wood, finds Leif in his final moments and implants his dying body with the parasitic seed of a carnivorous, bloodthirsty plant.
Identity shattered, awareness fragmented, levels, classes and skills lost, Leif is reborn as a sapling in the newly formed wilderness that has sprung up in the years following the war.
But time heals all wounds, and when the primal need to reclaim his lost humanity uproots him, Leif embarks on an era spanning journey that will change both him, and the world forever.
For there is one constant in his new life:
Growth.

Hello there, Author here. Here's what you need to know to see if Hyperion Evergrowing is for you!
This book is a monster evolution story, and that will never change, but the initial goals of our protagonist revolve around him trying to reconnect with his humanity. Things change over time, but a lot of the first book explores what its like to be forcibly altered against your will, and the consequences of that change on a very personal, and somewhat depressing way. This obviously isn't for everyone, and there's a lot of fair criticism directed at the story, but I think the narrative goes in interesting and unique places because of it.
Hyperion is less power fantasy / wish self-fulfilment than some other series, but that doesn't mean Leif is weak in anyway. It turns out there are several advantages to the protagonist's situation, and while they don't instantly turn him into a god of war capable of defeating anything with his eyes closed, Leif does grow into a force to be reckoned with.
The story has a heaping of animal companions, some light kingdom building, heavy world building, and lots of character development for both the MC and a host of side characters.
Oh, there's also a subplot about the origin of the system itself.
Hope you enjoy!

- Closer CribRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I did not have many expections when I started reading this story and I most certainly did not expect to read through all available chapters in a single sitting and then write this review aching for more.
So without going into spoilers or more detail: I definitely recommend it if you're into monster mc stories! - DarkstringRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I spy a future Rising Star
Very varied writing seems edited or is just a naturally clean style.
The use of Narrator speech is very appropriate
My only gripe so far would be personal preference on how uninvolved I felt with the MC at the start of his confused transformation phase. It might be because there is a limited amount of ways to say "I don't understand" to things he encounters. - Dunc0neRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a blast. Read it.
Tree-dude is mobile and Author-san has a sense of humour.
So far has been a blast to read.
Looking forward to more chapters!
Some of the world-building makes me think of "The Iron Teeth: A Goblin's Tale," which was someone elses first offering that was tragically cut short.
Keep it up @Nilsimus!
<3 - SyntheticAberrationRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm a sucker for monster evolution stories so this will be a biased review. I think the story gets better the more you read and I'm eagerly awaiting new chapters.
I'm always curious as to what the next evolution will entail and we've got some side characters that have caught my attention as well. - TjStormRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly, this is a bloody excellent novel. In 7 days, i have read nearly all 200 chapters, i couldn’t put it down.
i will admit, when i started i was a little unsure as the author had stated that the monster would try to regain their humanity and seek to reintegrate back into society. I can be done right, but a lot of novels tend to get it wrong. Hyperion does an excellent job of balancing the monster and the humanity aspects, just like Syl by Lunadea.
This is just a really good and exciting novel, and i really, really, really hope the author sticks with it until it is completed.
The author also does pov chapters really well, as well. Fully fleshed out characters, with their own motivations and idiosyncrasies. The bad guys are scary, and dumb, the good guys are funny, and dumb.
i’ve really enjoyed reading this so far. My only gripe is that i didn’t come to this later when more chapters have been posted. - kaputoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is very good adventure/progression story. It has a system, which I really like with amazing concept of advancements being emotional challenges. The main character is very interesting, likeable and I love following his story.
He is a bit special in this world but he is not overpowered or some kid of predestined hero.
The world and system
The world is very interesting and is still expanding with monster faction and human faction and conflict between them all. At this point in the story there is still a lot of unknown about the world. But the more I read about it, the more I like it.
The world is fantasy / medival but with magic scientice and technology.
There is a leveling and class system which feels like a in world software systembwirh bugs and admins. In world there are even scientists researching on it. Very cool stuff.
The story
There are lots of things I like about the story but I will Fokus Here ob a few things.
The first is the arcs and goals. The story progresses so well. The main character always has clear goals, which evolve logically over time. I would say sometimes the story lacks a strong antagonist. Secondly, it is clearer set up as a long story which is planned out so well with great pay offs.
The characters
The main character is the Focus and is fleshed out and great to read about. The secondary characters are also very interesting. But sadly they are often not given enough time (because if the story) to develop much. - JerichoRobinhoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story us full of engaging story lines and real and impactful characters. The complex story and position of the protagonist and how he deals with his own identity and his past us incredibly interesting. The story is well written, has few typos, is thoughtful and well planned, and has kept me waiting for each chapter release. READ IT!
- KarasaphRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A story about a man who failed, died and through a system error he reincarnated.
I love the story, because the books are well organized. After the prologue, the story focuses on growth and the LitRPG aspects while glossing over days or weeks of progress. It's believable and fun before the plot unfolds and a deeper story with new characters, new experiences and life opens up.
Every chapter either builds the character, the world or the plot. No chapter is wasted and even sentences and words from the beginning reapear later in the story.
The world building and focus is more on Leif, with just some minor different perspectives sometimes to spice things up. The consequences of his actions affect quite a lot of people and make his journey impactful. It's a story about growth and the system is enhancing the story by building the character reflecting his decisions and personality.
Every aspect of the story feels believable, the world feels lived in. Though you have to get to chapter 90 if you look for more urban storyline. The journey is always entertaining and focuses on the story. The grammar is somewhat advanced and describes a lot with few words at times. Therefore the writing with Style, Story and Grammar gets five Stars.
And the story is so good that it has been copied/stolen and sold without crediting the real creator. So it must be good and you should rather stay here because the author and his comments are always a joy.
The character also gets 5 Points. He is a result of his decisions and with him being a monster, fitting into society that would probably kill him if they find out his 'true' nature, there is always tension. There are loads of other monsters and people that are still stronger than him and he is far from perfect. To keep walking and advancing is probably something I can learn from the character. But hey, I just love the character development. Because:
I love the idea of a brawler - healer. Basically a cleric monk.
The author never forgets that his cha - MifcsternRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is hitting all the right notes for me so far. The narrative voice sucks you in. The world is well described without falling into lengthy exposition. The MC is likeable, and strong but not invincible. Pacing is appropriate, it's a little slow to start, but understandable given the state of the mc. Even when the MC is just growing roots, there's enough quirkiness to keep it entertaining. I'm excited to keep reading.
- Mrlonely001Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0scratches the itch you get from not finishing a good monster evolution story on the past year, this is well written next to no grammatical errors, whilst possessing a wide vocabulary and creative plot would highly recommend. The best meld of a human mindset into a monster mc I have ever seen, it makes sense for the monster to have a human like mc, if feeling unsure by about the second chapter you can tell if the book will work well with your tastes or not. I would highly recommend, I have to thank the author this made my wait significantly better as I binged the 20 or so chapters. The chapters are quite long with good insider perspectives on what the characters are thinking and why they are thinking in that particular manner, this is usually the problem seen in monster evolution books where the main character has a human mindset for no apparent or explained reason, this author has avoided this problem extremely well. good length chapters where they are not too long as to require you to set aside a long time to read them whilst also not being so short that you finish them in 2 seconds. The author seems very excited about their story which helps me be excited to read this story I love the way it is progressing keep up the good work!
