How it all went to Hell

Description
Adventure story of an Imp trying to find a piece of hell for himself; a realm torn by war ever since a bunch of Angels moved in.
If life in hell wasn't hard enough he also has to deal with unreasonable summoners and odd cults.
***
There are many hellish realms out there, and this one sure isn't where our protagonist expected to end up after death. Hell, he didn't envision his life would earn him an eternal damnation - in another world's hell at that. Was our own full or something?
But for certain things there is a price to pay.
And no, you can't speak to the manager.
———
Expect some flashbacks, an unreliable narration from the characters and a big twist.

- ZentriesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It was fun to reed but its way to short I wish there was more not much else to say .
I guess I still need more words so instead I will just add some random stuff like how its incredibly disappointing how many good books end so fast but a tone of very meh ones are going on there 500th or 1000th chapter - DefectivebyDesignRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The story is enjoyable enough. The style is problematic. It might be described as bad grammar, sloppy, awkward, and random pov, but this is also a style I've seen before. It's not a good style, it's used in low quality mystery stories, to deliberately not allow you to understand what's going on. Yeah, that's right, it's 100% intentional. Every one chapter requires 50 chapters to understand due to being vague, and this increases every chapter. 2 chapters require 100 chapters, 3 chapters require 150 chapters, and so on. The author has to keep track of this background lore that's never written down and eventually burns out, but not before the readers, because the style is too annoying. You can't read it one chapter at a time, because it will make no sense. What makes it more irritating is the filler. Since the story is intentionally vague, it's full of filler to pad the word count, whether that's pov shifts, talking about the weather, or describing the color of grass. It's schizophrenic to read, and again written intentionally this way.
I don't like this style. It's not good even for mystery stories, because a good mystery gives you the clues with a comprehensible main plot, and you can either figure it out yourself, or wait for the detective to do so and explain the process, and the process is done linearly with the scientific method, instead of "random POV lul".
This isn't the worst implementation of this style, because the worst is usually completely unreadable. So you can read it, and follow the basic plot, but that doesn't mean it isn't annoying either. Hopefully, it's just as annoying for the author to keep track of the "secret" plot, that is the actual main story, and eventually it will stabilize into a normal writing style that everyone can enjoy and not require work to comprehend.
This isn't even a real mystery novel. The real mystery is why anyone would use this style or think it's actually a good idea to use.
Other than that, I think what exists of the story - The OxRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is a fun progression fantasy about a spunky little Imp named Meow.
As a character, it is really easy to like Meow. He??? (Its a little vague, the text says Meow is male but the voice comes off quite feminine to me, Meow's class is also often called "Rose Maiden Imp") is spunky, plucky, scrappy, and surpisingly cheerful for a denizen of the abyss.
His backstory is kind of complex and confusing. He seems to be a transmigrated soul? There are many references to Earth and novels etc, but the specifics of Meow's previous life are not well explained. He also seems to have an unusually broken leveling ability compared to other demonic creatures we see. But since Meow is such a loner we don't actually TALK with other members of demon society, just kill them.
The world of Hell where Meow lives, and the fantasy world of mortals where he is often summoned are complex and interesting. We are given frequent flashbacks to Meow's many experiences being summoned.
The primary downside to this story is that it is very sloppily written in both style and grammar. The tense structure is all over the place, the story will jump tenses and POV almost at random with no warning or explanation, it is extremely jarring.
The language can be extremely clunky and awkward very often, and the grammar is frequently badly mangled.
This story needs a ton of editing work, almost every chapter contains multiple areas that need serious editing to make them more clear and readable. Wag9 needs to edit this much more diligently before posting chapters.
It doesn't kill the story for me, I still think the story and characters are worth it, but if you are a grammar stickler you should walk away. - DrAltRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The MC is a variant imp on a hell plane, and the early elements of base building and progression are excellent. The story goes to hell when the setting isn't Hell. Like other imps, the MC can get summoned, and I found the summons not that interesting compared to the struggle in the actual hell plane itself.
We get flashbacks, other perspectives, tense shifts... all sorts of distracting off-outline irrelevancies that make the story hard to read. Lower scores for grammar and style
LIked the MC -- high score on character. MC is well-developed, with personality, grudges, long-term planning, unique powers, and a deep backstory. In some respects, it may be unfair to be annoyed at all the flashbacks since they contribute to the deep characterization. My big issue with the story is that it meanders around the MC and doesn't focus well.
So overall, this one is getting reviewed because it hit a hiatus, and I did enjoy how the author handled the hell plane. Only about 60% of the story takes place there, and I think it could be rewritten to tighten the focus. Author, if you ever decide to come back to the project, please minimize the extra perspectives and focus on the MC. Thanks for sharing the story.
