Bethany St James hasn't sent foot in Glenwilde for ten years but when her aunt, avid reader, plant lover, coffee connoisseur, sends her the key to her beloved cafe, Bethany returns immediately. She finds her aunt in hospital, unresponsive in a coma that the doctors are baffled as to its cause. Upon returning to the cafe, Bethany finds a series of haikus that lead her to the Observatory, the strange building out the back of 'House of Figs', where the walls are lined with hundreds of books...and as she starts to unravel the mystery of her aunt's coma, Bethany discovers that the Observatory captures her aunt's most sincere belief...that books are doorways to other worlds...

All these things will help me buy in, when the weird thing happens. Whatever it may be. Books are grabbing me more than ever these days. Perhaps literally, in this story.
