Description

Former Preacher turned hitman, and avenging angel for God, Michael Finn, has a solitary life. His little world of smooth blues, Alcoholics Anonymous, and killing the worst humans the state has to offer, gets turned upside down in a twist of fate possibly orchestrated by God himself... or a hallucination of God himself.

After hitting a hooker with his van, everything he knows is about to change, when Mike discovers not only does the lucky girl seem unharmed, but she happens to be Tanner, the Decatur Decapitator, the very serial killer he's been following for weeks, and she's more trouble than he ever bargained for.

One nosey Detective obsesses with finding the truth, while a shadow organization struggles to bury it.

Chaos unravels as Mike's faith is tested by bullets, his loyalty tempted by flesh, and his life invaded by a strange beautiful creature of death he can't help but slowly fall for. As time goes on, Hitman/Holyman Mike discovers that a war is brewing, the country itself in peril and something evil rises from the darkness he never prepared for.

Mike struggles with the questions hunting him: is Mike a warrior for god, falling from grace to rise again against the evil herself, or is he just a schizophrenic killing machine being manipulated by a Russian operative that seems just a little too unkillable to be truly human. Either way, his soul is on the chopping block, the lives of thousands in the in balance as nations rest on the brink of war, and a lot of people have to die to prevent it...or cause it?

With every kill, Mike becomes a little stronger, abilities bordering the supernatural, as Mike realizes his destiny: to defeat the devil, fall to the devil, or find out he was the only devil all along.

May the Blessed man win.

GrizzyGreggarious knows exactly what they're doing—and they're doing something incredibly right.
The characters are nothing short of amazing, and the dialogue is dripping with wit and nuance. It’s clear that GrizzyGreggarious intentionally crafts scenes that are both absurd and hilariously entertaining. The dynamic between the two main characters feels strikingly realistic, perhaps the most authentic I’ve encountered on Royal Road. Their verbal sparring and emotional conflicts don’t just unfold—they explode, mirroring real relationships.
The story itself is a wild ride, effortlessly pulling you in and keeping you hooked with its unpredictability. I was completely captivated by the mysteries woven throughout Book 1, as well as the deliberate ambiguity surrounding the supernatural elements. The style and iconography are top-notch—honestly, \holyman hitman/, what more can I say?
As for the gore in the early chapters, it’s worth noting that it’s the most graphic content in Book 1, so be prepared for that.
In short, read it. That’s my wholehearted recommendation. You won’t be disappointed.
