Description
Emi's cousin, Veda, is a young witch with an unspecified future she's mapped out ahead of her. She didn't expect the famous spell book author, Salinger, to fall for her so completely that he was willing to cast aside all other love interests to dive into an adventure with needles, crystal balls, spell books, magic circles, and the delicate curtain that separates this world from the next. There's trouble and then there's trouble. Veda's plans may kill both of them.

- superlloydRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5First I like to start with what this book is not. It's not an isekay system harem story like many on this site. This is also not a story of immature horny teenager fighting monsters.
This is an urban fantasy story about a fucked up witch that cannot feel anything (emotionally). There is no monster here, or maybe not quite any monster. And there is this boy that will try quite hard to get through to her. It's smartly done too.
It's all about character development. About 10 characters I'd say (didn't really count). And the pacing is both slow but with no downtime or dragged out empty filling chapter. Every chapter is an exercise in character exploration.
The magic, if it's your thing, is moderate initially. But fear not, I'll spoil a little, there are magic books in this book. The kind of which you better handle with care for fear they might eat your soul. Funny little misnomer, she calls them "spell book", they are more like enspelled book!
Finally it's my second book by this author. I think I need to read more. Luckily she wrote so many!
