I definitely lucked out on this one. recently i've been on a super power spree and have been looking for as many stories as possible. sadly not many can claim to be as good as this one. the writing style is filled with detail but keeps a good enough pace to be engaging. the plot is well laid out and there's a reasonably good twist to the usual mha world spin off. something that struck me as exceptional was the authors ability to end the chapters. each chapter left me wanting for more. the world is especially refreshing, with logic behind many of the heroes we've seen. it's almost similar to shows like "the boys" with the political side of heroes and how much PR goes into it. cant wait to see what power our protagonist will show in the future chapters. as long as it's not something super basic or overpowered i'll love it. there could be future issues with how it was specifically said that every power is unique. as the author introduces more characters, it'll get harder to not overlap powers. not with the major names but side characters and civilians are the issues. besides that i think this is the perfect foundation for an amazing story that can't be understated. will definitely be following this hidden gem closely.

Honestly, much better start than I was worried it would be from some of the other reviews. They do a great job of portraying a smart protagonist who isnt perfect/clairvoyant being effective in a world where they are overpowered by their contemporaries. The presentation of powers is also well done, power scale is not insane and there is a lot of focus on skilled usage. Eagerly awaiting more!

I'm a very kind reviewer, but I don't tend to come back to fictions. I will definitely circle back around for this one.
This is how superhero fiction is done. A mart MC, a lot of ontrigue, and flashy characters with proper personalities.
The plot is just starting, but the pacing and action show a lot of promise for what is to comr

If you're a fan of Super Hero Academy style stories like Sky-High and My Hero Academia, this story is for you. From worldbuilding to characters, the author has done an amazing job with making everything feel vibrant and exciting. The main character, Emmett Shaw, isn't an OP meathead who brute forces solutions. Instead, he uses cunning, smarts, and strategy to outfox his super powered opponents. I think this story has so much potential and I cannot wait to see what the author does with it.

TLDR: Very obviously inspired my My Hero Academia but does its own thing, and does it well.
I left this as a comment in the last chapter I read, and I feel that this is a good summary for a review.
Warning: Some spoilers, maybe. But nothing that isn't background.
So far, Emmett seems to be the most... Dangerous? Effective? Member of the the class.
This is... Not despite or because of his lack of powers, but because of everything he's gone through. His effectiveness is something that powers have nothing to do with.
He's a strategic and tactical thinker - with loads of preloaded analysis combined with the ability to think on the fly.
Someone in the comments compared him to Batman, and I agree. In DnD/Pathfinder stats, his STR/DEX/CON might be low (for a pc), but his WIS and INT are pretty damn high, and it seems like his CHA is above average as well.
Thats before he gets any benefit from his power - what he's trained is something he's developed since he was a very young kid, not in the less than a year since his power would have showed up.
I wonder about his power. I think it's an internal one that impacts him rather than anyone else. I'm guessing his emotional state leads to balance in tense situations.
As for this part of the test....
I wanna make a bet on two outcomes but I don't wanna say it in public, so I'll pm them.
All in all, this is a good story to catch my attention - it's a nice homage to My Hero Academia without being a blatant copy.
I just ask that you add an guy with otter powers :3 even if it's just a background character for one chapter xD

The story is based on a realistic approach to how the world is when everyone gets super powers which are far different from what one is reading in comics. I really enjoyed the OP wanting to follow his own belief knowing that it might also be a tall order for him to achieve his the goal.

I really hope this story keep going, it is just what i what missing in the super hero genre.
Great world building, interesting  MC with deepth, and overall just great.
Some might say it has a slow start, but it just add that more depth to the world and characters early on!

Nice story, a fun start. Always cool to start in the action. The grammar is good, I didn't check too closely. The style is easy to read. The super action was tense and did a great job of introducing our main character and some of the surronding cast. Overall, I had a fun time with this one.

Enjoying the book but the pacing is a bit slow so far 30 chapters in and still no idea what the main characters power is and literally haven't progressed a day passes chapter 1.
The writing is quite good (in my opinion) the chapters/conversations between characters is very smooth.
My main complaint is that unless im missing something these characters are all 13 years old and don't make any sense for their age. Then again it's not like I want them to act like dumb kids, so I don't know what I'd prefer but maybe just an older setting?

    *Chapter 8 review*
There's nothing wrong with this story but I wonder what it's even about.
MC doesn't have self-esteem issues from being basically powerless in super hero world, but I wonder if it's a good thing. Character growth is a valuable thing in a novel and I'm not sure how MC even can improve since he's already hardworking, intelligent, composed individual. People should have flaws and MC is perfect so far which can be an issue down the road. The best novels/movies I've red/watched have protagonist with one character trait that's both a source of their strength and their greatest flaw - like never giving up or being pragmatic to the point of apathy. Maybe this story doesn't want to focus on character growth but plot... if that's the case then we only have two mysteries - MC backstory and some villainous shananigans - which would need a lot more development to sustain the plot.
The writing is actually very good. Grammar is excellent, the style is good - we have character interactions that feel natural, descriptions that give you a feel of the world but won't bore you to death and action scene that feels organic. I gave this story 4 stars because, while it's only 8 chapters long so far, I still don't know where this story is taking me - my best guess is a generic high school drama with some action scenes thrown in. That said I can be 100% wrong and the author does have the skill to pull off a great coming of age story or an action novel with heroic lead (I do miss those, nowadays everyone seems to write villains or vigilantes). I will definitely continue to read and I recommend everyone to try in out as well. It's not great (yet) but it's well written and thought out.
    Edit 1 (ch.20):
It's a bit eerie how similar this story is to My Hero Academia. It's like more thought-out, realistic version with quirkless MC XD I think we're going in different direction than MCA plot, but the first few chapters do read like a fanfiction (an excellent one, but still...)
