- YoltzuinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I quite like the way the story is developing. The story is unique and feels fresh with its own take on steampunk things. The grammar is sometimes just a teeny tiny bit wrong, but it gets fixed quickly.
Overall the characters are interesting and the story as a whole is really fun. - LeonVRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Fun adventure that seems to be aiming somewhere between a Noir-style telling with a Pirate Fantasy adventure with a healthy sprinkling of Fantasy and Steampunk! We follow Hercu, an ex-pirate cum adventurer with a penchant for mechanics and getting into, and subsequently out of, fights.
Told mostly in first person, which I personally have a little trouble with, but the author manages to do it fairly well, so I managed to ignore that little hurdle. As for grammar, it's pretty consistent and, whilst not perfect, pretty good! A few odd choices of words now and again, and could benefit from a proof reader, but it's pretty good!
The biggest issue I've found so far is a tendancy to start describing something, move on, and then return to finish describing it which I find a little disorienting, but nothing too bad.
All in all, so far it seems an enjoyable read, and I'll likely keep reading it in the future!
Keep on keepin' on, Author!
Peace.
