“I don’t remember when or why, but they say I killed someone. I was judged for it. Yet I’m still free, because they found no evidence to send me to jail and lock me inside a cold cell for eternity.

However, they’re still after me—especially my victim’s brother, who swore to kill me or bring me to my knees. And now, as we work together, I’m forced to see him every day, to face the deep hatred reflected in his eyes.

This feeling is mutual: hate. And yet, something makes me like him. I don’t know if that means I’m a crazy woman who is drawn to pain from the one she loves.
