Community Rating
Description
Martial Warriors battle it out in forests, destroying trees in single punches and kicks, uprooting them with ease. There is a world hidden underneath the mundane realm of mortals, one where martial prowess is everything, and living and dying by the edge of one's blade is natural.
This world... is being threatened.
Enter Kang Yilan, a seventeen-year-old convict sentenced to life, whiling away her days mining ores in the southern mountains when she happens upon a fateful encounter.
Read as she embarks on a journey that will change her life, and the lives of millions of others, forever.

Some magic elements are borrowed from Savage Divinity and a handful of other good wuxia/xianxia stories, but the story itself is pretty original if I do say so myself. If you feel bothered by my borrowing elements from other magic systems, a) I'm not making money off of this... yet, and b) almost all Xianxia copy each other. This one, at least, has direction where other xianxia don't.

- Szx135Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I came for more Savage Khepri and I was not disappointed in your Original World Building and Characters instead, really liked this work of art overall. Here's a quick no-nonsense review without spoilers.
STYLE
I really liked the chapter and flow of the writing, the different points of view represented different scenes which led to good and pretty smooth transitions, swinging from plot point to plot point.
STORY
Along the way, there are some plots that might seem similar to your average Xianxia/Wuxia but there are some that are also very original (at least to me), and interesting or shocking points as well. The world flowed well and even though some scenes were your typical or more predictable storylines, they were also exactly what you would expect from a Wuxia and that actually made it very fun for me to see it "going back to the roots" in a sense. Good and fun adventure.
CHARACTER
The characters are well thought out, each has their own value and they don't feel paper thin and aspirations. When it was their turn for their first person's point of view they felt "real". Everyone felt real enough and each had good character development which didn't feel just like it was forced upon them.
GRAMMAR
There are some typos and occasional odd sentences but nothing that really disrupts the flow of paragraphs or the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story, albeit 3 years late, I really hope for more. Amazing, More Pls? - bellcross1Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Personally, I normally do not enjoy multiple perspectives or main characters in a novel or when the setting is ancient cHiNa. However...
Storytelling and grammar: Superb honestly. No grammatical errors and a very decent vocabulary on display here but its not too hard for a non native Eng. speaker to understand.
Characters: So far, so good. All the introduced characters are unique and their personalities stray far from the usual young master crap we see. Since I like to assume that the character from chapter 1 is the real MC here, let me say she's not faultless and her experiences have shaped her in a flawed manner, making her seem more human than what we usually get in this genre, a welcome reprieve from the standard formula.
Objectively: Multiple perspectives and "main" characters aren't my cup of tea, however in spite of that I'd still recommend giving this a go, I'm enjoying it for now.
Subjectively: The quality of this novel is a few notches above the "above average" standard for this site. Go for it, it won't be a waste of your time.
