As the title says, The Heir of Kings is consistently written in such a way that makes the plot nicely clear. There's still room for mystery, but not enough for blatant confusion. The imagery that the details invoke are great, the characters are cool, the progression feels pretty steady, and the grammar, etc. is really good as far as I could tell. I didn't go through what I read with a fine-tooth comb, but it's not often I don't catch something. So that's a big plus in my book!
Conversely, the clarity of the story perhaps hinders it somewhat in the form of dialogue. Certain parts or lines can sound a bit unnatural. There's frequent name-dropping, for example, or sometimes a character will spell out something fairly obvious. It's not bad, but noticeable. And since the writing seems to be mostly dialogue, it's even more perceptible. Likewise, the pacing's kind of fast, and there's not a whole lot of expansion outside of dialogue. I enjoy the way the author adds detail and descriptions! I just found myself wishing they were longer before moving on to more speech.
In general though, an interesting narrative with great characters.

The Heir of Kings is a good story with a very detailed and well thought out plot. The world it happens is well-crafted and distinctive. There are a lot of characters with interestingly intertwined backstories and moreover, the author uses very unique and interesting names which give the story a nice fantastical feel.
The story is easy to follow. The author has a knack of dialogues and consequently relies on them heavily for exposition. They flow quite well, but sometimes it's a bit jarring as it feels more like 'tell' than 'show' where the characters are discussing every past incident through dialogue.
The main character of Relma for me is a bit simplistic and flat. She is a young girl with apparently no special talent except for her royal blood (at least until chapter 5). At this stage, it's hard to root for her as a future leader of exceptional abilities.
The little gripes aside, I like the author's style. It is fluent and descriptive and the narrative flows really well. There are a few grammatical mistakes but they can be easily corrected. Nothing is so glaringly obvious as to affect the immersion.
All in all, it's a good story with a lot of potential. The author has done a commendable job. Well done author!
