Description

In this world spirit binding is the main path to power, and what spirit you choose to bind can shape who you are and what options are available to you. Our protagonist for this tale is Willow, a farmers daughter who bound herself to a candleflame spirit when she was very young. After a chance encounter with twin spirits of Harmony and Change her path is forever altered for better or worse. Watch as this child befriends spirits and makes an enemy of the clans as she tries her best to be the kind of hero she has only heard about in stories. Perhaps she will succeed in bringing about Harmonious Change to this land. What to expect: A very slow burn, and I mean it. Book one will have very little in the way of action and is mostly spent having Willow finding the spirits that make up her team for the rest of the series. There's some cultivation stuff in the first book, but not a ton. This will eventually become something akin to a power fantasy in later books, but I do feel that Willow earns that power when that eventually happens. Willow will also get the ability to swap gender at will down the line, and they start gender swapping when they're quite young. I'd rather people come in to my story knowing that, rather than have them be blindsided when it happens. I am ticking the graphic violence and sensitive content boxes because things will get intense eventually, but it's not super relevant for the first two books according to my outline. However the outline has been known to lie to me so take that with a grain of salt. On a related note, no romance is currently planned, but stuff may happen. ------------------ Some highlights for those who want them. [Slow Burn] [Gender Swapping MC] [Emphasis on Characters Instead of Action] [No Romance Planned] ------------------ Credit to the talented LT for the cover!

The author deliverd what she/he promised.A cozy story, whith really good written  chatekters, our MC can read emotions, so the auther is always thinking of every charakter as a person and how they feel and reaked. It makes them seem  real. But the storry is out of the Perspektive of a kind child so its not grimmdark but COZY.She not really collecting companiens(for power), like you would think, she making new friends.A nice famaly, a tight comunity, a driven MC.I like the magic systhem, it Mostly depents on your spirit, got a water spirit? Gets water power, but it has a good depts and is thought throu.I  really like the writing stile. Nice pacing. A good Mix of World building, Perspektive, details, and Personal thought. AND really good use of POV.The grammar is really good, I havent found a mistake jet( read up to chapter 50. I read a lot but english is not my first language)I am a little afraid were the storry will go and if we get a nice happy end, because you get the feeling the author is really open to design her charakters, and there Interaktion, that leads to amazing Dialoge and funny polt twists but the storry is real open. Our MC wants to be a hero like in her Mamas storry and help people, well she is a bit young for that, but she is trying. How that will work with her family I learnd to love....well we will have to keep reading. And I know I will enjoy it.

Slow paced, but deep world building and a fairly unique cultivation system.  Plus a cute mc. Love it to death and can't wait to keep reading more. One of my favorites lately, and oh eighteen more words required.     A very good, cute. And cozy novel i seriously reccomend to anyone

    Overall:
Xianxia / cultivation, but with a focus on characters and their relationships in what feels like a more western style fantasy forest village. Excited to see where Book 2 takes us.
It's very cozy, which most xianxia isn't. I always enjoy a book that's got progression, some conflict, but that can still warm my heart. 5/5, love it!
    Characters:
Well written! They feel like people, with their own motives. They all have **personality** without being caricatures or overly exaggerated. Think more fantasy book than manga/anime style.
There's a loving father who has to face some of his shortcomings, an extended family with both prickly pears and care. Strangers meeting each others along the road of cultivation, and not being idiots about it.
Oh, and cultivation in this world (or this part of the world) involves binding spirits, who are quite capable of being characters as well!
    Story:
The first book's story feels appropriate to the character's youth. It's a good introduction. No super complicated plot or anything, but gives us a peek into an interesting world & setting. A very promising peek!
Though it takes place in and around a small village, we get to see a bit about the world beyond.
    Style & Grammar:
Gets the job done without getting in the way. Nothing fancy or experimental, just solid writing. Haven't noticed any spelling or grammar mistakes at all I think.

I wanted to comment on a few chapters but wanted to catch up first and leave a Review!
I unashamedly abandoned my chores to clean up my room to binge this as quickly as possible and it just so happens our little friend of the spirits also abhors chores lol, seems like I'm also being played by Fate and Destiny.
So far the world building is good and experiencing it through a child's eyes plus their feelings is a great intro into this universe. I love that her spirits get to express their freedom due to how simple her binding is and how it's simplicity affects the strength because of the freedom it gives to the spirits which she gave a chance to.
Please keep up with the good work! I'll be waiting for each chapter!

This is just such a beautiful and gentle story. Truly a pallet cleanser. The protagonist is written as such a wonderful small child with a good heart, surrounded be family that are actually living and accepting. The author deals well and gently with some topics that would cause issues, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Great depiction of a child with some peculiarities. Lovely/loving family that isn't black and white in their behaviour. Though still moral.
The author notes show an overarching plan that makes hopefully for a finished story, while still maintaining flexibility in where the story takes them.
Occasionally, a few characters felt underdeveloped and vague, which only makes sense if you know how their story unfolds, but makes little sense in the moment. But that might also just be me not paying attention to them.

I am loving the story so far.  Willow is a fun protagonist.  She's adventerous but also innocent.  I also like that she has to grow and learn about her abilities.  The characters she meets add to the story and expand the world she lives in.  It has been an enjoyable read, and I cannot wait to continue reading it.

Harmonious Change aptly titled for its titular twin spirits can be summed up with the miraculous word 'Comfy'The story, while having its serious moments and secretive plot threads in the background definitely focuses more on the simpler things in life - like sticks and stones, enjoying big sissies dinner, and playing with friends. And that is a big part of its charm. It has the things you expect and are familiar with from cultivation stories, you can find warmth in the terms and the fondness of story beats you can put your finger on and yet despite that, it still leaves you yearning for more answers.Structurally there's no glaring issues or flaws, grammar is crisp and clean as far as casual reading goes, even if you can nitpick something... most won't bother in a normal read through. The characters are lovely. Despite being a child the MC is likable enough. She has her moments where she's very excessively youthful in a less than appealing way, but the story itself propels the scenes forward in a way where each moment is justified and works itself out. It's a good cast of characters overall, and there's no real issues with any of them.Overall, the experience truly is just comfy and smooth. I want to see more in terms of some of the more serious plot threads, but as is - it's a lot more a 'journey before the destination' type of vibe. You just ride the waves and hope for the best. Like, not being dual cultivated by a [redacted].HEEEEEH.

You give a 7 year old access to magic and see how the parents panic because a child is going to child.
Much of the enjoyment for this story is how you can handle the main character. She is a child. With everything that comes from that. She is easily distracted and say stuff without thinking about it that should probably have been kept secret.
But she is not malicious. She want to be kind. And for this story friendship is magic.
