BACKGROUND INFO

As a child of the 1960’s, I set out to write a classic science-fantasy, a throwback to the stories from the golden age of science fiction and fantasy. Coincidentally, my subterranean adventure takes place in a Midwest mining town in 1952.The MC is a social outcast who keeps making poor choices and does not stand up for himself so this will be a slow coming of age with many stumbles along the way.The content warning relates to the addictive properties of a substance found in the Cor and how that impacts the teen MC and others. This subplot becomes more intense in book II.

Firstly I want to thank you for posting this book on royal road. I dont know if writing is just a hobby for you or if you do it for living, but most authors on royal road never see a cent for their work. So it’s basically free entertainment for others.
Now regarding your writing. As you can see I reviewed your book on chapter 3 and I might update this text if I continue reading. So I’m not that far into the story considering there are multiple books, my insight into the story is not that pronounced.
Story: I think that the story is quite unique, it is nothing like the generic content that is circulating on royal road these days. It is a fascinating story that keeps its mystery. The world is quite detailed and you can see it before your eyes while reading.
Grammar: I haven’t noticed any particularly glaring grammar or spelling mistakes but considering English isn’t my first language and im not concentrating that much on spelling mistakes that might be wrong. All in all havent noticed any mistakes that threw me out of the reading flow.
Style: The author used a lot of adjectives and adverbs to create an interesting world.
Character: I can’t say that much about the characters. I think that Corvan and his family are characters that are created with an intent to give them more content as the story progresses. For example I like the parts when Corvan compares the nature of his father a few years ago and in the present. That gives the story a more complete face.
Overall: I think the chapters are quite well written thus far. Keep up the good work!
