    another one comes along!
    Opening.
I think from the start you know this novel has something very different. The prose itself is laden with rich words and intense visuals and the need to find this one guy… in all the bars, everywhere  nice making me turn the page.
    Story.
There’s a lot to unpack here, and to work through, not because of the world building around the story, but because of the style and everything else that comes with it. I can see why there might be a slight warning because it kinda doesn’t really move in any progression way till later. We’re really getting set up in this amazing world. So reaching that point and further was important to me to see how the author was going to handle this. Which to me was very well. No complaints at all on where the story is going so far.
    Style.
It is omniscient which is really difficult to pull off, so we’re looking at the MC and the world around her through very open eyes. We see and know everything and it’s given to us as we do. It is ‘the girl’ instead of always she did this, she did that. It is quite a lot to read when you’ve not read many before, but once you get used to the view of almost everything it’s actually really good. Hang in there, it also gets better!
But…. Saying that it’s handled very well, the author has extreme proficiency in reading and writing itself or there’s some very good backers behind them too. Maybe a little of both  Either way, kudos for tackling something like this, most would not.
    Grammar.
For something so highly crafted, there’s nothing that stands out to me. There’s great use of all visuals, sounds, and all senses, that I usually might comment on in someone’s novel. This is highly polished and very much so a joy to read.
    Characters.
I think even though there’s a fair few characters and names of things to digest, but they’re easy to. We kinda follow all of them without chapter split offs, or hints so that starting the chapter with their names right away is important. But I also kinda re

GUN SALAD is an action-packed, stylish, and engaging read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The writing is descriptive and vivid, creating a richly imagined world that is both gritty and colorful. The story follows a Gunslinger named Roulette as she navigates the dangerous and complex world of Port Pistola, a place where guns are the law and bullets are the currency.
Style: 5/5 - The writing is engaging and descriptive, creating a vivid picture of the world and its characters. The author's style is consistent throughout the book, making it easy to get lost in the story.
Story: 5/5 - The story is well-crafted, with plenty of action, intrigue, and danger. The plot twists and turns, keeping the reader engaged and interested in what comes next. The author does an excellent job of balancing the action with character development and world-building.
Grammar: 5/5 - I have to begin saying that I'm not English native, but like most of us here, I've read hundreds of books and after reading the story I'd say I couldn't find any glaring errors that were not either a choice or a manner of speech for the characters, and so, if there were any, they did not detract from the overall reading experience at all
Character: 5/5 - The characters are well-developed and interesting, with their own unique motivations, strengths, and weaknesses. Roulette, the main character, is a strong and capable Gunslinger who is both determined and vulnerable. The supporting characters are also well-drawn, each with their own distinct personalities and quirks.
Overall: 5/5 - GUN SALAD is an excellent read that is sure to delight fans of action and adventure. The writing is engaging, the story is exciting, and the characters are well-developed. I Highly recommend it for fans of the genre, you won't be disappointed!

As an avid fan of the shonen genre, I was surprised and excited to find a story that would fit eerily well in the pages of Jump magazine. The only real dissapointment here is that this novel doesn't have a manga adaptation, but then again the writing here is solid enough I hardly need it.

    Style
The author writes confidently, and above all sticks unerringly to the tone set at the novel's beginning: a fun, zany, adventurous one that isn't afraid to dig into its darker consequences. Its arc-based structure zips along at a good pace, fast enough to keep things moving but not so fast that readers are robbed of the chance to sit with the setting and the characters, learn more about them, and get a good sense of the stakes.
Considering its inspirations, this story places a firm focus on its battles. Here we have a mastery over the basics: clear geography, shifting states of advantage along multiple and distinct phases to keep things interesting, a proper contruction of comprehensive setpieces rather than short-lived instances of immediate tension, etc. This all sounds pretty wonky and dry, but I think it's important to stress how well the action is written here, because it is so central to the genre this story fits itself in. The fights aren't particularly complex, but they are created with the kind of simple, practiced competence that I genuinely have a hard time finding in most other works of the same kind, and it's something I think needs to be pointed out because this kind of foundational craftwork that so often gets overshadowed by the more obvious workings of character and plot.
    Story
Speaking of plot, I would say this is probably the most straightforward part of the story. A world-spanning journey with a steadily expanding cast of characters, almost like a JRPG—heck, they even get an airship some ways into their travels. Portrayed as a revenge tale, this overarching goal soon falls into the background as our characters get consistently derailed by, as the MC put

    Damn if this isn't good.
GUN SALAD depicts the story of an elaborately dressed, gun toting, seemingly newbie heroine, who's out to seek a partnership with a washed-up gungslinger, who's seen better days, in order to seek revenge against a group known as the Gun Czars.
The writing and style here is absolutely top-notch, with vivid, expressive descriptions as well as narration just oozing with character and charm. It makes for not only a smooth but also really fun and engaging read. And not to mention the dialogue in its very western style, which feels natural while also compelling. The banter between our duo is definitely one of the highlights here. And at times, especially with the fights, the story feels like the best parts of JoJo.
Grammar-wise, everything is top notch here. There's practically no grammar issues here, though I will say some of the contractions (like "S'what" for "Is what" in Chapter 2) used in the western-like dialogue might make you scratch your noggin' for a tiny bit if you ain't familiar or ain't predisposed. Though, mostly, these contractions add charm.
I also love how the storytelling here, just dropping the reader into this world and only slipping in hints regarding the world or regarding what gunslingers truly are through snippets of dialogue and narration. I'm excited to see what unravels in the following chapters as the duo's adventure continues.
And the characters, they're also another highlight. The characters, especially our duo, are such a treat. Even where I am at the story, I'm already loving the dynamic between the main duo, between our eager newbie protagonist and the jaded used-to-be hotshot.
Overall, great read! Recommend to those who want to experience a story in a world of guns with some anime flair. Will binge-read the rest later on :)

Calling all readers! There's a new chef in town! And he's cooking up a banger! I welcome you to try the best salad you'll ever find on RoyalRoad! It is very delectable to the human eye.
Grammar: Let's just get this out of the way first. 5/5. Up till where I've read I haven't spotted any errors. No need to call the grammar police, or the Gun Czars. Definitely not them.
Style: A little odd at first but you get used to it after a while. And by saying that I don't mean it's bad. It's still wonderful and very well written in my opinion. The pacing is good and the flow is nice as well. The writer loves to give a lot of descriptions and detail which can be very good at times. He really knows how to slap you into a scene and make you want to read more.
Story: So far from where I've read, I have yet to really catch the whole story, but the writer is carefully feeding you with the worldbuilding and easing you into the story without infodump overload.
Characters: So what can I say, Roulette is special. A different type of character from the stories I normal read(or write). In a good way of course. She is very unique and the other characters are well-made(lol mafia made, get it? Nah? Nevermind) No one is juicing on heavy plot armor, and they have been given human flaws and weaknesses. They are their own people and not just NPCs who stand around and watch you get struggle (video game flashbacks). The story could have well been about them instead of Roulette and it still would have been interesting. That is how well written the CZARS are(Characters, Czars, get i- urgh! That's it!)
Overall, the book has really has a pulling quality that makes you eager to read the next chapter. Kind of like when you eat a pizza and your like, dang, I want another slice. It's really good. Go ahead, have a salad.

It's a straight 5/5 from me, really enjoyed this and will be back to catch up.
Scene description, characters description and dialogue all contribute to painting a picture of the setting that is easy to settle into and enjoy.
Dialogue of MC really shines, and the change in attitude when we get to her inner thoughts when she leaves the bar in chapter 1 piqued my interest instantly. The writer is able to think about how multiple people should view the MC, the reader, the other characters and the MC herself.
The small dialogue/accent indicator “I was just wonderin’ “ is really delicately done and the result is wonderful. Easy to overuse but handled well here and only serves to add atmosphere to the writing.
Character. MC’s confidence is clear although she seemed to me to be unstable, I don’t know if that is intentional, but she flicks from attraction, to anger, to fear, to excitement in the blink of an eye.
Pacing and Style: Have to give the writer points for the third chapter shock, did not see that coming at all. This points to one of the strengths of the writing, the chapters are really nicely laid out and come to an exciting conclusion. It’s certainly a page turner.
Inventiveness and imagination: If the description of the bartenders gun is an example of the kind of out of the box creative thinking we are going to get from this series then it’s certainly going to keep me interested.
Action scenes are where this story really thrives. The pacing was perfect and held a great amount of tension. The writers inventiveness shone again here, I had no idea what was going to happen.

'Gun Salad's' plucky heroine (Roulette - great name!) is looking for help in all the wrong places and her character leaps off the page - full of fresh-faced, naive bravado. It would seem her plan is not going so well as the sidekick that the success of her mission depends upon is...er...underperforming a bit at the moment? The characters in this story are delightful, funny and expertly rendered. The reader instantly knows who they are (and who they THINK there are - clearly not the same thing and I anticipate much future humour will hinge on this discrepancy). The dialogue is sharp and the writing witty. A particular favourite phrase so far: "exhibiting all the wit one would expect from a consummate alcoholic". Zing! XD Descriptive passages are well designed to give a clear sense of place without sacrificing the momentum of the story, I could see this pastel-infused seaside town with it's steam punk flair clearly in my imagination. Each chapter's action was timed to keep me clicking to continue. I can't wait to see how this unlikely duo fares with such a daunting goal! I was also intrigued with the romantic side plot that was introduced - something tells me that is not going to go quite the way Roulette is hoping...Thank you for this delightful romp. I eagerly anticipate the next chapter.

One of the most promising stories I've come across, GUN SALAD is a vastly entertaining tale.
    Style:
A delight to read. Description is never too much, dialogue is well crafted with incorporated dialects, and pacing is satisfyingly fast. Every chapter ends with some sort of pseudo-cliff-hanger that does an excellent job of convincing the reader to continue reading.
    Grammar:
Easy 5/5. Throughout my reading, I haven't noticed a single mistake — be it grammatical or otherwise. Not to mention the author has an excellent vocabulary.
    Story:
With inspirations from all sorts of media, GUN SALAD is a fun and exciting tale filled with twists and turns. The power system so far is quite reminiscent to Jojos, if instead of stands, users had magical guns. It's just as cool as you think it is. Battles are fast but intricate, and the worldbuilding is brilliantly interwoven at every turn.
    Character:
A refreshing blend of contrasting personalities. Chemistry between characters is abundant, and you can tell how much time the author put into each of them, especially to smaller details like their outfits. Very interested in seeing how they progress in the future.
All in all, GUN SALAD deserves all the success it's rightfully recieved, and more-so. A recommended read that deserves a perfect score.

The mood of Gun Salad can easily be conveyed to any potential reader by simply listing some of the location names mentioned already. Trigger City and Port Pistola are redily evident to any reader as to the nature of the world. There's also places like Wesson and Enfield, which will stand out if you know a bit more about firearms. Personally, this kind of writing stands out to be as an author having fun and being silly with their writing, which is perfect for a comedy story. The names of characters get even sillier, and the characters themselves are aware of it. A marvelous spectacle of wit.
The story stands out as simple enough while still having strong anchors. A main character with a lofty goal, a lot of motivation, and not much experience. A second character with a questionable past, a lot of skill, and a complete lack of motivation. This is a strong setup for an interesting dynamic further down the line. It is too early to see how the that part of the story will evolve.
The powers available to the characters that have been revealed so far leave a doorway open for a lot of creativity. The outline of possibilities starts to be drawn and the shape is very large. Splash bullets that make people drunk? Ideas like this hit high notes in both creativity and comedy, and that speaks a lot for the story as a whole.

I have read up to about halfway through chapter eight, and thus far have little to complain about.
    Style Score:
It's spunky western aesthetic is probably my favorite part, and what might keep me coming back after this review. The language they use to keep you immersed in the western mindset is consistent and well done, though a little rambly.
    Grammar:
I'm no english professor, and I'm sure theres some things my ADHD brain just kind of glossed over, but overall I was impressed at the level of competence involved. I'll also say that even with the 'ye olde' gunslinger slang, it felt smooth and natural; Something I would have had trouble with.
    Story:
Though a little long winded, The descriptions tell me what I need with just enough extra detail that I'll recognize them later if they're revealed in a twist. I had a bit of trouble feeling too connected with the story on a base level, though that could entirely be specific to me and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Character Score: I had trouble with this one. While I am personally fond of the characters so far, they felt slightly like characatures of people rather than living breathing entities. I felt less like I could see inside the main characters head, and more like someone reading their mind gave me a synopsis. That said, I'm only eight chapters in and that could change drastically once we see some more obvious motivations.
Overall, I'd say that even if this type of thing isnt to your taste you should definitely glance through a couple chapters regardless.
