Kyle Barten thought that it would be better to take the easy route to retiring from the forces. Instead of going right to civilian life, why not enlist in the World Defense Force? Or was it the International Defense League?

While the name kept changing his supervisors confirmed it was legit. If only the state of the equipment lent the same confidence. But when the world wakes up in a scary place, he finds out just how needed his new outfit is.
