Description
Speaking heresy on my deathbed led me to meet god. Maybe it was a curse, or a blessing, but he decided I would work it off--as one of many gods on another world of magic and sorcery. It wasn't something I intended or was prepared for, but I am willing to work to make the world a better place. Isn't that what a god SHOULD do? Part of the Demonsword Project universe (First Age).

- RyancostRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is beautiful writing. I have never read something such as this. No overpowered god, no overpowered abilities. Real life scenarios, as close to our life as can be. A take on gods which is refreshing and captivating. Please keep writing and the good work you are doing.
- jasenhansenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story sets up the world and has the main characters ready to take on the world.
It does not tie up all the loose ends or resolve all the conflicts but it does show a path that the characters can take.
It is novel to not know where things will go from here but it is a nice read and not the only series I have read from this author.
This leaves me wanting more but that is better than a slow dragging death.
So in summary, I recommend this to others. - HorriblememewritingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A nice fantasy setting with little or no gamelit elements which explores the idea of godhood from the perspective of a former human turned weak deity. Explores quite a bit about the concept of being a god, the abilities of a god as well as their limitations
- BMan28yyeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0OK, great read overall my guys!
Style: I like the style. Don't really know what else to say.
Story: I love the story and the way its going. The only problem I have is that he's being pushed around and not striking out on his own to get followers.
Grammar: The grammar is good and I havn't found many any if only a couple mistakes.
Character: I love all of the characters, the only thing is what I said about Ryan in the story, but it's still great. - PommyJoshRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A very compelling read with excellent character development. The reincarnation aspect of this is very well done and there is enough mystery that keeps your attention by making you to want to keep reading to find out more. The take on what a god is in relation to the various worlds is a rather interesting approach that I look forward to continue seeing. I would definitely recommend giving this a read!
- Possum_REaderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thanks for the Book!
I believe that we are not something special, that the only meaningful truth is that we are all going to die, that death is the only truth and thus our time is so very limited.
When we are dead, we will be gone and nothing anyone, anybody says or does in our name will matter. Why would the dead care if you are happy or sad or are holding a grudge against them, they are dead.
So, I believe in living as I want, I believe in the pursuit of happiness and freedom. If I am happy with myself then it does not matter if I am a Trillionaire or a day-to-day wage manual labor. I believe that our happiness depends only on our perception and not other's actions.
Your book bought me some happiness, some perspective, and some reflection. I would love to read the part two, and hope that you will be in a great place physically, mentally and spiritually.
Thank you for writing this.
Now, on to the official review.
Style: 4.5
The style was great if a bit hard to follow in some places, not that hard just like riding over a small bump while riding a bike. I loved the Style.
Story: 5
I loved the story! It flowed (for the lack of a better word in my vocabulary) so well. I loved this story so much that I read it all in a single sitting from cover to cover. Sayu if you see this, please release the second book. I would love to read what happens what happens next.
Grammar: 5
The grammar was flawless in my opinion, it felt like something that someone whose first language is English would write.
Characters: 5
The characters were interesting and engaging. There's so much more to them than being a standard 2D cookie cutter character. They are nuanced, flawed, complicated, a little contradictory but always whole, we see them making mistakes, stumbling, falling, getting up and learning form it. I am looking forward to reading more about their development in book 2.
Final verdict: This book is 4.875 stars out of 5 stars. - AzoricoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5An imperfect gem, perfect because it is all the more real.
This is my best attempt at squeezing my feelings, opinions, and thoughts on this story into a single sentence.
The scope of the novel tends to grow as the story develops and you'll find the author switching to the perspectives of other characters for entire chapters (I personally like this narrative tool and the way it was used but some seem to dislike it).
Some of the plot is contrived and there are sparse dull chapters, but the way the narrative builds onto itself and the characters are linked to this world makes you keep reading and reading until, suddenly, it ends.
Great take on godhood and magic! Drawn from several different sources and woven into a nice soft magic system with some hard constraints. On the one hand, you'll feel curious about the worldbuilding around it, and on the other, you'll be content drawing your own conclusions on the whole thing from conjecture alone.
Get yourself some perspective and enjoy the ride, even if at first you struggle a bit to power through the initial buildup.
If I had to sum it all up into a sentence with inspirations interwoven with it I'd say it is something like:
"Grounded transmigration American Godesque take on pre-medieval civilizations with semi-fleshed out elemental magic from the perspective of a newly fledged godling with plenty mental health allusions throughout". - KorielRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Really enjoying it.
Looking forward to more chapters! - thejoker195Royal Road★★★★ 3.5I'm not too sure how to rate this, as I feel this review is mostly based on personal opinion. My personal opinion being that I just don't feel any excitement reading this, the prose is good but weird at the same time, can't think of a word to describe it but it just doesn't flow smooth in some places as I have to back track and try and understand what the mc is saying or thinking.
Then as far as the story goes I just don't feel it, I won't exactly call it boring but 15 chapters in and the only thing I can feel from this story is depression, I don't care for the road/method to Godhood either, gathering flock and all that seems sooo...drab? I much prefer wuxia style, or hardwork with magic, so this just feels stale for me.
All said, not a bad story to be honest, I think the mc is sensible and an okay sort, just not someone I want to read about, much prefer a nathan drake uncharted style adventure than the vibes I get off this story. - ZAxisRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Started strong, but raw.
Turned into irritating but polished.
This is the story not about Gods, but about gods. The only thing that makes them different from normal people is special magic.
Also, there is sci-fi.
Extreme dating sim vibes, harem looming over the head. Not a single important male character other than MC - he is surrounded by strong woman everywhere.
Manipulated through and through - but by a "good" character, so it's okay.
Let's get to scores.
Style:
Starts rough and cringy sometimes - gets better, significantly. Sometimes even very good.
Story:
Slow, interrupted by constant big twists that give power and subvert the old. Like, constantly. Also, mc always someone's underdog.
Grammar:
Mostly fine, sometimes sentences don't make sense though.
Character:
Not flat, but nothing special. In fact, sometimes insufferable.
Tl;Dr:
It's pretty good in most aspects, but will piss some people off. Like me.
It did not get better. I checked.
