- Sun HashiraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What is there not to like?
This story, this world, the characters, every thing inside this one ongoing series, they are all brilliant, shining like Vega in our murky starlit sky.
This book doesn't care for who you are, where you hail from, what your interests or hobbies are.
The only thing you need to make sure to do is be here on every Wednesday and Sunday for a fresh new chappie to get released, and have a good, good time enjoying one of the best reincarnation stories you'll ever find on the World Wide Web of ours.
PS the author is a chill dude, go give him his well deserved love in the comments and reviews section, also urge him to make a discord, it's his only crime that he hasn't done yet.
Much love to all who read this far. - DramonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far I must say the start was the most impacting but our dear Lire has more punches hidden for you, if you read on.
It's unusual for a reincarnation story to have so much of a story before his death but it was extremly impactful. It really grips you and intruduces you to the mc and shows you how he grew up and became who he was before he reincarnated. A lot of stories ignore that and one can't really connect to the characters as one can with this Mc.
Stories such as these that pull at the heartstrings are few and far between, many stories are engaging and fun to read but a story that pulls your heart is rare, this is one is all three and more.
Now why does this story pull my heartstrings and why did the start impact me so much, it's because the writing is great, it sucked me right in and I felt as if I was not reading a book but rather that I was standing right there. And... cause I relate a little bit, I have been in a hospital, fearful of going to sleep, not knowing if... I'll wake up again. Minor spoiler: I didn't die. But ofcourse as this is a reincarnation story our dear MC... well... Reincarnated by ofcourse you guessed it, by dying. His death however is ... Impactful, It felt real and I totally didn't cry, (you might though, not me tho I never cry).
Later he reincarnates into a really enviable life. It's been a joy to read and author really punches hard with the side charaters and Mc's first "glimpse". He tries his best with this second chance and you can't help but cheer him on.
Wolf mom is #1!
In short the story is worth your time, try it and you'll see.
And yes Lire I can read and write. (I may have written this entire review becuse of you saying that but that proves nothing)
Also I think Dramon would be a nice name for a charater, y'know if you wanted to name a passerby or were looking for a name. Plz Lire. Plz. I re-wrote this review twice. plz for me. And more wolf mom scenes. plz I have never asked you for anything.
Now that I'm done begging shameles - God of FireRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The prologue is really long but if you stay till the fun starts you will realize that it was worthwhile
This is one of the greatest stories on this site
Im at the end of the second arc and it was worth it
The world building is slow but really great and plausible I mean why would a little kid know everything about the world
The character progression is a little bit slow but everything needs there time to bloom - Jordanj1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm not past chapter 8 but it's amazing and I don't like non magicy stuff it's just very good at making me immersed in the characters and the story I recommend reading it even if you DONT wanna read the rest il update with my opinion of after chap 8 but my god don't deprive yourself of it
- Khan of KhansRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I thought i already did a review on this story before and i just realised i did not in fact leave a review soooo~
This is one of my favourite story in this site. It has a really great plot, it is gripping and makes you come back everytime. The characters is interesting and relatable with their own motivations not just decoration for the MC. An amazing world that hooks you in with a sense of wonder and captivates you with its atmosphere. Overall would highly recommend 5 out of 5 - BullerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Can't help but hate that use of onomatopoeia. I understand that it is a very valid way to right and that some do enjoy it but I am very much not of that group. While this story is great in both premise and execution, the actual style made reading a few parts of this story a chore. Overall a great story with a few minor flaws that made my opinion worsen.
4.5/5 - thegoodman99Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Glimpse of Eternity is a slow burn isekai. Real slow burn. That isn't a bad thing. The author takes his time showing us who the MC is well before the MC's new life begins. This gives us a good glimpse into who Ken is and the relationship's he cares about.
At the time of writing this review, I have just about finished reading the first arc. The next arc, the start of the new life, has a solid foundation to grow upon and I am excited to see how the New Ken will deal.
10/10 Serpents! I would recommend this isekai to all, especially if you want a story with meaningful characters.
Style:
The first arc is written in a loose 3rd person perspective. We mostly hang around Ken's thoughts but we do get the story and thoughts told from other perspectives. The narration is easy to follow and the only problem that I have so far is that some of the descriptions and thoughts can get a bit repetitive.
Grammar:
There are small errors, but nothing major.
Story:
The story after the first arc is still beginning. From what I have read so far, I have enjoyed the story. The first arc takes place in the hospital Ken is being treated at. Despite the less than fantastical setting, the story is carried by an engaging cast and real conflict. I like what I have read so far and have no doubts the story will continue to grow.
Character:
I like Ken. He seems like a good dude. I have some problems with him though. I don't think my criticism with the character is unfair, because for the most part Ken agrees with me. The guy is aware of his own faults and I am curious to see how he is able to grow and overcome them in the next arc.
The story has a lot of potential for great characters and adventure. I would encourage any looking for a new isekia to give this a look.
Thanks for writing! - tauRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story has heart and a great core, but is messy, cluttered and self-indulgent at times. It needs a rewrite or a thorough edit and it will be good enough to be published.
I started reading this story 2 days ago and binged it. It is THAT good at it's core. Almost stopped in arc 2, but then I powered through into arc 3. Unfortunately, it has many issues that gradually killed my enjoyment of it and I'll drop it for now. Still, let's start with the good, and complain later.
THE GOOD:
The prologue.
This is an isekai story. In most cases like this, the protagonist's life on Earth is ignored or skimmed over to get to "the real story". This is not the case for Glimpse of Eternity. The prologue is long, fleshed out and impactful. The characters are deep and feel real. In fact the prologue is almost like "Book 1". It is well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The author even pulled a Ned Stark, introducing a lovely character, only to snuff them out. I liked that a lot, it made the story feel grounded.
Worldbuilding.
A lot of thought was put into the multiverse created here. It's fleshed out and makes sense on multiple levels. A solid base and a clever way to make everyone speak English.
Characters.
Not all, but many characters feel like real people, not puppets that speak with the same voice. They have mannerisms and quirks and generally feel like people. Mostly good stuff.
Long chapters.
I despise tiny chapters that are not worth a click. This has long ones, which I like.
THE BAD:
Stupid protagonist.
Our protagonist is supposed to be smart and resilient, with a talent for reading and manipulating people. This is the case at the start of the story, but as it goes on, he seemingly gets dumber. Reveals secrets he shouldn't reveal and keeps others that he should entrust to his loved ones, blurts things out carelessly, ignores things.
Spineless protagonist.
A prince, second in line to the throne of a powerful kingdom, acts subservient to everyone. He apologizes to his tutor - RhuiedianRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5The Good: The beginning is quite well written. I very much connect with the pre-reincarnation MC. And the author writes emotional connections with several of the characters incredibly well. The story is carried by small details and interludes that bring depth to the story.
The Bad: The plot quickly devolves into an OP MC. There does not appear to be an overarching conflict driving the plot forward. I stopped reading when the MC decided to start a gang to make spending money, and not only were the gang members cartoonishly evil, but experienced, well-established leaders of the underworld just happen to be incapable of harming even a low-level character associated with the MC.
Conflict ought to drive the plot. But at this point it appears as though the MC's country just happens to be superior in all ways to its neighbors, and the MC's armed forces are superior in every way to those they encounter. One of the traps of progression fantasy is that the MC demonstrates his or her power by just owning everyone. And at this point I am not sure who or what exactly the MC is going to fight against or be challenged by.
There are some other ethical challenges. The MC tortures a criminal for information and every female character the MC encounters is stunningly beautiful, even when the MC is 12 and doesn't appropriately. - casio8888Royal Road★★ 2.0The world is interesting and the characters are fleshed out. However the whole thing is a bit slow with the long arc 1 pre reincarnation. And just when the story starts to finish the setup and worldbuilding there is a massive twist that goes on too long, goes back on the whole character development and feels terrible to read.
I also dont understand how that even happens with the indomitable willpower ability. Seems a bit random and did not feel like a story i wanted to continue to read
