Description

In the forgotten annals of the Dark Age of Technology, a dormant bioweapon waits, its existence buried in the shadows of mankind's once-glorious past.

A sinister ritual, shrouded in darkness, now threatens to merge this enigmatic weapon with a soul plucked from a higher dimension and unleash Chaos upon the grimdark future of the 41st millennium.

But can it succeed? Or how soon will it go off the rails on the off chance that it does succeed?

The fate of this perilous venture hinges upon the awakening of the soul, reincarnated into an eldritch form, stranded upon a desolate world where the guiding light of the Astronomican no longer shines, surrounded by naught but the lifeless husk of the planet that stands as the memorial to all those that died to birth this being into existence.

What choices will it make when those who seek the bioweapon within its very being draw near? Will it fall prey to the myriads of predators stalking the stars or will those very same predators tremble in fear at the sight of this monster?

The future teeters on a knife's edge, awaiting the awakening of the unexpected.

At least that's what everyone else is thinking. Everyone who is not the long-dead soul of an average girl from 21st-century Earth obsessed with sci-fi as she had the dubious fortune of being yanked out of her boring afterlife and reincarnated into the body of the previously said bioweapon.

Follow along as she has to wrestle with both her body and soul while the dark undercurrents of the grimdark future threaten to drown this newborn Eldritch monster with a penchant for admiring herself in the mirror.

Extra Tags or something:

- The first bunch of chapters are rather rough around the edges. Might rewrite them sometime, but for now, the sub-arc dubbed 'wandering in the city' leaves some things to be desired.

-This is far from what I'd call a literary masterpiece, I'm trying to keep it from being fully wish fulfillment and power fantasy but balancing that and my MC not being a ragdoll for everyone in the setting is surprisingly challenging.

I do not own Warhammer, everything aside from my Original characters belongs to Games Workshop.

I often find that fanfics of universes like WH40k end up being some kind of world redemption/destruction story where the MC is trying to either "defeat" evil or become one of the big bads.
So far this seems like a more laid back self-interest read where the MC just want to live, experience stuff and have fun while trying to balance her new nature.
It's not a overly complex story and can be enjoyed much like an action movie, but still provides room for theorycrafting.
I've been positively surprised by the quality of the writing, despite it ostensibly being a writing exercise. Maybe my standards have fallen after one too many badly written book, but at least it has proper sentence structure and grammar.
    All in all, good read.

I am sadly, a little too lazy to write an Advanced review, though nonetheless I will write one.
I love the story already, the characters feel grounded, and the Main Character doesn't feel too overpowered at the start of it all. The Writing style is pleasant to look at, and even while I really don't look out for grammar I was unable to find any missing dots, commas or miswritten words anywhere in the book.
If the story continues going at it's current pace then I'll totally stick around, if I manage to scrounge up some money I could even throw a subscription out for a hopefully soon-be patreon (Actually don't know the legal situation with that, though that doesn't have to be in the review).
Hope anyone that reads this has a great day :)

Give it a read. This feels and reads like a “casual” or “light” version of the standard WH40k fanfictions. The plot is fun and the MC is just the right amount of overpowered to keep things interesting.
One super positive note - the characters all feel like real people. Granted there’s only been 2-ish side characters as of chapter 29, but they feel far more real than I would have expected. Really it makes interactions with the MC fun to read.
Only downside (aside from finding this while there’s so few chapters available) there are occasional grammar and spelling mistakes, but nothing too jarring and the sort of stuff one would expect from a freely shared novel.

This is a great book so far with an interesting plot well developed characters and lots of interesting possibilities that doesn’t take itself too seriously and has an author open to input on his discord, the MC is strong but isn’t beyond godlike opness yet with many avenues of exploration available,

I do enjoy the unique experiance this brings to the warhammer 40k universe. A good level of power, interesting plot but not the greatest, some good characters, writing and Grammer is good, it might not be for you if you aren't already into warhammer.
Overall a good story but not one of the best I have read. 4.5/5

    Great Story, even if you don't know anything about WH40K. Why do you have to write 50 words? I a m t o l a z y t o d o t h a t. E v e n if y o u c a n d o t h a t.

This story has been a very nice ride so far. I’m a sucker for non-human MCs and this has been feeding that itch very well. Additionally it does give a different kind of perspective on the setting than a classic Human SI would. The stance and attitude the MC takes is also wonderful, she sees the world as a Sci-fi future first and “40k” second. Many SIs get deep into the hole of Grimdark and just roll with it. I also very much enjoy her acknowledging that she may know a lot of stuff she shouldn’t, she isn’t all-knowing…but I really enjoy her playing the “enigmatic alien” role…more of that please? I do like the relatively high regard for 40k lore the author has been expressing. There are some AU elements, but mostly to rationalize the existence of the MC so I can dig it. I look forward to future chapters. The choice to integrate the MC’s origins to the main plot has been a very good move in my opinion. Many fics would go with the “out-of-context” origin and bullshit their way through. I very much look forward how they Author handles that.

Subjectively, fun story, fun pov.  Objectively, few errors, good attention to detail.
Note that I give reviews not to inform the author, but future audiences, who want to know if they'll likely enjoy the story or dropping it dozens or hundreds of chapters in due to unexpected elements that couldn't be reliably guessed ahead of time.
I'm dropping since the mc fails my not evil test.  I define evil by character arcs and trajectory, not starting or end points.
Starting point: 21st century human with average to better than average contemporary ethics.
Chapters 1 to 10: kills only threats, is concerned about loss of humanity and actively clings to sentiment.  Deliberately modifies body to better feel emotions, avoids modifying own brain in ways that could compromise free will.
Chapters 11 to 20: off screen kills human mutants sane enough to speak, out of seeing them as beneath her and habit.  Doesn't need to kill to collect DNA, and wasn't at risk of starvation.  Is desperately lonely and wants people to talk to, but the idea that killing mutants might be wrong doesn't even cross her mind, and finds the mere thought of talking to mutants repulsive.
That's off screen character development btw.
Chapter 27: Monologues about morals, deliberately chooses to ignore them, and proud of ignoring them being effortless.  This isn't a whim or instinct, but a deliberate, informed choice.  Basically, the argument could be summed up as, I am not human, therefore it is not moral to have human morals, therefore I have no morals, and humans dont have morals, so even if I were human I still wouldn't have morals, everyone would do the same thing in my position therefore I am guiltless.
Pet peeve: Just because animals are superior to dogs, does not mean all humans can and should kill them carelessly or ignore their comfort.  Some even treat intruding spiders with care.
This is not meant to be a dig at the author.  This is W40k fiction, and by that worlds standard, the mc is a saint.  They wr

It is well written and the character have some decent depth, the only issue is that in the latter chapter its more romance heavy and sometimes i forgot that this is a warhammer fanfic.
Beside that its a very good story that if the author corrects a little bit the ratio plot/romance it could become better

Too much monologuing/rumination in general, also monologuing in action scenes that ruins any feeling of danger or urgency, so much of it that it makes JoJo’s bizarre adventure pale in comparison. Everything takes too much time, pacing is suffering and you want to skip more and more to reach anything meaningful instead of hearing MC's pointless blabbering.
Lots of text that doesn’t do anything useful and only bloats the word count. The author tries to appear “mature” by constantly inserting swearing, it only achieves making actually mature people cringe (I don't even consider myself fully mature btw, but even I see this as a fault).
MC doesn’t feel or sound like a female character AT ALL, just your average run-of-the-mill self-insert dude.
Also, minus points for the convenient human form, extra minus points for doing it so early without the MC putting in any actual effort into it, and some time after MAGICALLY downloading everything useful from the Lictor (totally not a Gary Stu). The classic “human that sometimes turns into a dragon” instead of the other way around.
Dropped the fic at chapter 13, so take my words with a grain of salt.
