Description

Everyone dreams of gaining magical powers at some point in their lives, be it flying through the air or throwing fireballs from their hands. When the time finally comes, and mana arrives on Earth, it's not all its cracked up to be. Transported into a tutorial with his family, Christopher has to fight to survive while trying to keep his family alive. After three grueling months inside a tutorial where tragedy and death seem to follow him around, Chris struggles for power and the chance for revenge. When the survivors return to a changed Earth, conflicts arise. Various players vie for power and to expand their influence, while Chris tries to carve out a place for himself and the rest of his family free from any more conflict. Others aren't so keen on sharing what they think should be theirs. ~~~ Current Release Schedule is one chapter every weekday (5 days a week) at 4 PM EST. Inspired by the amazing stories of Primal Hunter, Path of Ascension, Unchosen Champion, and Path of Dragons.

Frostbound has its highs and lows. Some might find it more boring then others and some might find moving to fast. I think it has just enough of both.
Lit:rpg stories are a dime a dozen. They are popular so they are constantly getting pumped out. However very few of them stick around. Frostbound is one of those few.
Where other stories focus on the main character and their struggles in the wake of an ever changing world due to the dreaded ‘system’. This story shows us how the world doesn’t bend and break to our main character Chris.
We follow Chris. We watch his struggles and his triumphs, but we never do it alone. Every chapter has something else in the background or in the details. Always talking about his family or his friends or even the very world around him that’s changing. The world building is phenomenal, something that many authors struggle with but here every chapter feels like it adds something to the world.
A truly great Lit:rpg that becomes an even better story the farther and farther you go. Some stories are all the protagonist and nothing else. This story is the protagonist, the side characters, the world, the villains, and the knowledge we learn alongside chris in his struggles.
A phenomenal story that I will keep enjoying.

I did not expect too much going into this based on some mixed reviews, but I ended up absolutely loving it, going through all available chapters in one go.While it may not be the most imaginative or detailed or most well written book, it is certainly one of the most entertaining and engaging ones.Everything is don't nearly perfectly to keep on stringing you along through the chapters - until they run out faster then you had hoped for.I can only recommend giving it a shot.

Let me begin by noting that this story will be a great one; you can tell that immediately. Following in the steps of other amazing cultivation stories, Frostbound takes the initial setup and does something interested with it, trying to give us many characters that all care about each other instead of random tutorial buddies. You should read this story!
Style: There is no an incredibly amount to note about the style other than that it is fairly unobtrusive and allows for the narrative to really shine through. The scenes displayed are both vivid, while not being bogged down in the details. The language is excellent and you can tell that the writer really took their time to craft this story.
Grammar: There weren't any glaring issues with the grammar as far as I could notice. The story progressed apace without any stuttering that might have come from numerous errors. Well done!
Story: After having only gotten through the initial setup of the events that are going to take place, I can already tell that the story will be strong here. Setting up a tutorial where an extended family has to base-build and defend against waves of enemies and other combatants, chef's kiss. I often find that one of the two most important aspects of a cultivation story is the premise, and Frostbound really delivers in this area.
Character: This is the single most important aspect for a proper web novel, and I find that this story delivers on proper character. Grounded in Chris' perspective, we really get to see not only how he is trying to cope with developing events, but also how he feels about his family throughout. I can't wait to learn more about his extended family and how they deal with the new world they have been dumped into. Each member is distinctive, and I think that is difficult to pull off.

The first book is genuinely one of my favorite takes on a “tutorial” that I’ve read. The story progresses well and is enjoyable. After book 2 the pacing turns kind of weird/off putting, but I will keep reading to see how it turns out with the 3rd book.
Grammar wise (not that I have perfect grammar either) the capitalization errors are jarring. In addition, the italics and bolded words usually seem unnecessary and are used too often for the impact they should have (IMO.)
The magic system is interesting and progression and paths are as well. There’s a mixture of cultivation and typically “kill to level up” style of growth.
With that said, ignore that and enjoy the story for what it is! I recommend this series. *review finished*
Edit: multiverse is mentioned a few times but is just now being introduced in any meaningful way in book 3. So if you’re looking for that just set your expectations appropriately.
why is 200 words required. This feels like an essay omg. Blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah

I really like the pace and plot building this set of books presents. It has a slow but steady burn to it that catches you and makes you fall inside the story. It builds a lot, not only in the MC, but also in all of his surroundings and side characters, in a way that makes you understand why everything happens the way it does.I love the morally gray structure the MC has and how his family and legion build around it, how detailed and brutal the fights are, and the not-so-common attention to detail. The POV switches may appear strange at the very start, but you can grow along with it.If I may place an only catch, it is the small and very occasional grammar errors, but they are far apart between.Overall, an amazing story, a very well setted main character and side characters, and an interesting setting to grow along with.

The advancement of power makes sense, it feels like the MC has earned everything they have, and they fought tooth and nail for it. The world building comes in healthy doses and feels well paced. I started this a few days ago thinking I would have a nice slow read, I caught all the way up so fast I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for new chapters!

I'm amazed you wrote this much in under a year and a half, especially at this level of quality.
Everything from the world building to the magic system is wonderfully thought out. Original whilst operating in the framework of traditional litrpg's.
Love Chris as a character and having his family come with makes it feel like the every battle has consequences that matter.
Overall a wonderful read and I can't wait for your next update.

The story line is excellent, has many interesting characters, and a well thought out advancement system. Definitely wondering how strong characters will be able to get in the higher tiers. As well as wondering when you'll be introducing new worlds. Looking forward to more chapters.
