The Title image doesn't really show the kind of story this is. Also the title is mostly accurate in one word: "cozy". Like this whole genre invented here on RR of infinite power used to just chill it's very nice to read.
As with the authors last book it still shows he can improve the characters a bit but it's already way better than his last work.
    Story and style
Basically it's a mage academy wizard that has decided to go home and do... Everything really. He will fix fences and repell vermin, mixed with the social awkwardness of a medieval nerd that came home to his village but still being the kind of person that decided to do just that. I love good the world building just presents itself in the story and the author has grown a lot here too. It feels natural while still leaving enough for being curious and not feeling confused or handwaved.
    Characters:
So far lovely. A few quirks here and there in the form of a little to rapid character development but I'll mostly attribute this to this not being a book but a chapter by chapter story. It's missing a comic relief character or "arrogant young master" as semi-antagonist typical for these kind of genre (like someone who uses the power how its SUPPOSED to be used but is really annoyed/angry/desperate how the MC is just nice) but that'd be an easy fix and I'm not even sure it fits with the general story.
    Grammar:
Seems good to me. Just not my strong suit so don't blame me if there happen to be mistakes I didn't find.
All in all really glad to read from smiling satyrs again. Hope this one will reach hot, as it certainly deserves to do so. Keep going!

If you're a fan of cozy fantasy then this is the bees knees. Just a young man returning to his hometown to serve it as it served him. It's just Nice like a cup of tea with milk and a cozy blanket when it's raining outside. I really enjoyed it and am filling out the word count

Meet Wilbur, a smalltown boi that just wants to grow into himself and a part of the community.  But with small town politics, family problems, a little bit of romance, and magic, things aren't being made easy for the nerdy college grad.  Will he be the small town hero?  Or the small town flop?  And how pushy should the pushy small town mayor be?  Will the old people be less crotchety and critiscising?  Will he take his old flame to the harvest festival?  Will Carl stop eating things he shouldn't?  Who knows!  No passed slice of life with an uber town wizard life as he takes on the small town problems with his mystical powers... May cause two headed goats, but that can happen naturally promise!

A great start to a cozy, feelgood slice of life story. The MC is likeable and well made, being someone who you can root for while also having realistic flaws. From what I've seen, there aren't any grammar issues, and the overall direction of the story is quite pleasant - though given it's early days, not much overarching plot has become evident.
All in all, its just a really nice story - perfect for whenever you want to smile!

It's a marker of cozy stories for them to be able to put a smile on my face. Friendly Neighbourhood Wizard captures these vibes perfectly - it's a warm story about home and family, and it does a wonderful job of making sure those elements shine through on every page. Yet no family is really without conflict, and Wil's family is no exception. It's all the more impressive that Satyr manages to handle those conflicts without compromising the heart of the story.
Style: The story simply oozes comfort. The style does everything to emphasize that. Words flow together well, the dialogue ties together the description - it's just a lot of solid writing.
Story: It's good! There are themes here of fear and discrimination, and to capture the cozy vibes despite those themes is impressive. A lot of the story seems to be about overcoming those fears and fighting against discrimination, and kind of the fundamental heart of doing good for everyone, even if they're not necessarily nice to you. It's pretty great.
Grammar: I have no complaints. It's solid.
Character: Very much where this story shines. All the characters are real; they're flawed, they're human, and many of them are still good at heart. It's a balance that's difficult to capture and one that Satyr does incredibly well.

Well written with some likeable and some not so likeable characters, even for a pesimistic bastard like me who is emotionally dead inside, I cant help but feel hope towards this beautifully optimistic tale.
Why in the living hell do I need a minimum of fity words for a review, greedy little bastards, don't worry not you Mr.Author san.
Just kind of annoyed by the obnoxious word requirements, twenty five wirds is more than reasonable for a review I believe.

The story is well written with excellent characters. The main character seems strong in magic, but not in an overpowering way. He has struggles that I think many of us can emphathize with. Confessing to a crush, meeting a former bully years later, starting a new job, and sibling rivalry.
The last chapter I read left off on a bit of a cliff hanger. I look forward to see how Wil will interact with this new potential threat to the Valley.
Just go read it and stop reading reviews :P

Really enjoying the story so far, and interested to see where it goes. Good characters, realistic problems, and an interesting start to a small romance sub-plot. The characters fit the bill for a rural town with a successful local being sent off to college, along with the social impact he will be dealing with on return. Tempted to sign up to the Patreon once the pace picks up a bit, but until then will enjoy the chapters as they come. A relaxing, feel-good wind down story is a good change of pace compared to some recent misery I've read lately. The main characters family has its own fun dynamic between the eldest son taking over the family farm, the sister with desires to see the world, and the aging parents happy about their sons success in college but sad about the time it took him away from the family. It will be good to see if the author can maintain the very real feel of everyone's lifestyle and mentality as more fantasy elements are introduced as core elements instead of just being in the background plot. Easy five stars for writing, characters, and feel of the story.  Very well written overall.

Slice of life story of a young wizard returning home after graduation. It has a heart and psychologically fleshed characters beyond just the main character. The plot is not always airtight and some might find our main character a little too submissive.
But you will look at goats with a new perspective after reading this story and it has potential- if you are into slice of life, give it a try!

The premise certainly doesn't sound exciting but small town drama quickly becomes entertaining. The MC doesn't feel OP, but but certainly is more powerful than those around him. That said, there's "mere" humans can cause plenty of danger and not every problem can be solved through magic l, force, or magical force.
The story quickly becomes quite cute, if not slightly saccharine. Though, there is plenty of sibling bickering and other interpersonal animosity of various intensity to keep the story interesting.
It's a good read and I'm quite annoyed that I caught up to the story at an interesting portion, if not a cliff hanger. Now I have to wait (im)patiently for updates!
