    Amazing prose that really sells the emotions. The worldbuilding is top-notch, taking the silly premise and giving it weight. Abbysals and shipgirls are shown as two sides of a coin, negative and positive, dispair and hope, rage and calm, demonic and angelic. Abbysals are the main PoV, and while monstrous and hateful and uncaring on the surface, as the world is built up, the true tragedy of their existence is brought to light, and that things are more nuanced than they seem...
    Technically an isekai/reincarnation story, missing tags (maybe tragedy as well?). MC has to work around her abyssal nature with her previous life's knowledge, which gives her a prime view of how fucked it all is.
    Recommended to have read Worm first, knowledge about KanColle is unnecessary. This story currently has much more out on SpaceBattles, so continue there if you want more.

    Just as the title says, this story is really good. Worm by Wildbow is required to read since this is fanfic but Kantai Collection basically doesn’t have any story and barely any lore so all you really need to know is that it’s about WW2 shipgirls. Heads up though, way later in the story theres basically a 13 chapter AIWL-ish novella that is important to the story and really good but is also a big departure to the story prior. It does go back to what it was before after the 13 chapters but it’s really mind fuck-y so be aware of that so it doesn’t jumpscare you.
