Welcome,
To Lance Lawthorn's apartment, where he was reassessing his existence, when a cosmic event shattered the ancient barrier that had long shielded Earth from mysterious energies. In an instant, his world—and every living being within it—was bathed in a magical force that humans were never meant to endure.
He had only wanted to break free from his nine-to-five routine and start his own business. Instead, he got his superhero origin story. While the world wrestled to adapt to its new normal, Lance struggled to get used to his enhanced strength, enhanced speed, enhanced senses, and a whole lot of problems he wanted nothing to do with. Now, he must navigate a world where power is measured in stats, and the line between hero and villain blurs with each skill gained.
Hello, thank you for checking out my story. You can expect a strong protagonist dealing with sudden superhuman abilities after a global pandemic. The story mixes everyday life situations with sci-fi elements. It follows Lance as he learns to use his new powers and adapts to a changed world. The story explores how these changes affect him and society.
I wrote this story because I wanted to explore the creation of a superhero world. I was interested in showing how society would react and adapt to sudden widespread superpowers. The story follows not just individual heroes, but how the whole world changes when the impossible becomes possible.

- DepthMistRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story follows lance as the world changes right around him in a scientific phenomenon that leaves him and the world traumatised.
I love how this story follows a world similar to something we've all lived through, but adds the expectations of a litRPG apocalypse.
I also like the urban feel, not to mention phones, does are so under used in the litRPG genre.
Overall this novel takes it time to presents its main character and the transformation happening to the world.
I would recommend it to those who love super supportive. - MOMONGAAINZRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The novel’s style is a seamless blend of urban fantasy, sci-fi, and LitRPG elements, with an engaging first-person perspective that draws readers into Lance Lawthorn’s world. The prose is crisp, fluid, and modern, with well-placed humor that complements the gritty realism of a post-apocalyptic setting. The story also benefits from a strong balance between introspection and action, allowing readers to connect with the protagonist’s struggles while keeping the plot moving. The dialogue feels natural, and the occasional dry wit of the main character adds an extra layer of charm. The pacing is well-controlled, allowing for slower moments of character development before launching into high-stakes sequences.
Story
The premise of Forced Evolution is a refreshing take on LitRPG and superhero narratives, blending elements of progression fantasy with a post-apocalyptic world in a way that feels organic and engaging. The introduction of sudden, reality-altering powers feels plausible within the world’s established rules, and the exploration of how society reacts to such changes adds depth. The stakes are set early, with the protagonist grappling not just with newfound abilities but also with the broader implications of an evolving world order. The pandemic angle is particularly compelling, offering a grounded perspective that resonates with contemporary audiences. The tension between adapting to a new reality and holding onto one’s past identity adds a layer of existential weight to the narrative, making it more than just an action-packed adventure.
Grammar
The grammar and syntax in Forced Evolution are clean and polished, with minimal errors. The writing flows naturally, making it easy to follow without distracting mistakes. Sentence structure varies appropriately, balancing short, punchy lines with longer, more descriptive passages. The use of italics for internal monologue is effective and helps distinguish the protagonist’s thoughts from the narrative. Occasional run-on se - Mushin_DriftRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I read the first arc of this story on kindle, and now I am all caught up. This a Gripping and enjoyable story so far. The style and grammar are Very Well done. The MC is not OP but gets there and has a good knack for adapting. The other characters are also well done. The USEC drill sergeants are definitely Intimidating. It is definitely very well written and I look forward to reading more.
:D CHEERS (c) - hungrywolf91Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great Sci-Fi story, love the way it blends genres and the deadpan humor throughout. Also the creative use of LitRPG introduced via gene therapies was well done. The way it introduces varios concepts yet does not lose track of its established world building, is truly a work of art!
I'm looking forward to what happens to Lance in this military arc. Sign me up. - outoftime10Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A really interesting and different version of the typical system comes to earth. The powers are creative and the detail of the dangers they provide give the story a sense of realism not really found in this story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and the second book is really catching my attention.
The characters are complex, feel real and create a compelling story.
The grammar is one of the upper end on this site which allows for a great flow to the story.
Overall I highly recommend this story as it is such a breath of fresh air in comparison to the rest of this genre. Their are very few stories in this genre that deal with trauma to the extent this story does.
I highly recommend this story to anyone who wants a change of pace for this genre and to those who are bored of stories that feel bogged down and overly worded for no reason. You won't regret picking this up.
I have nothing more to say I'm now just typing for the word count cause this website won't allow me to post this until I reach 200 words which I find silly and pointless. Thanks
