P.O.W./test subject Philip Dresden returns home from Afghanistan a changed man. Strange abilities manifest and prevent his attempt at civilian life. With the help of a dojo sensei, Philip gains control of his powers and becomes a beacon of hope as a cosmic event starts giving ordinary folk super powers.
