Fighting for the Lord of Earth
Community Rating
Description
A fleet of alien spaceships were detected coming into the Sol Universe heading for Earth.
During the initial talks with the humanoid aliens their leader took control of the planet itself becoming the lord of Earth. He demanded the world leaders send him subjects that would be trained and fight for him who fought for the King of space. In return the Earth would be protected and their primitive knowledge would be greatly expanded.
Roughly 6,000 people from all around the earth were gathered into their ships and taken to another planet for training. After they would be dropped off the ships would return several times to pick up the full numbers demanded.
Kohn Lowson was the first to step on one of the alien ships.

- Futhark the ElderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0For a welcome change, we have a main character who is not a scatterbrained idiot, nor tortured by his past as an abused orphan, nor an arrogant scion of a wealthy family.
This protagonist both possesses a sense of humour and is the source of comedy with his gift for creating amusing situations. He leaves Earth to fight for the good guys of the galaxy against planet-devouring baddies, and realises his dream of learning magic. Technomage stories are difficult to pull off, but this one manages. (I don't agree with the reviewer who felt that the protagonist's augmenting the armorer's limited knowledge of space constitutes a "plot hole".)
My compliments to the author and I look forward to the next chapter. - nussanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love the story so far, funny as hell.
There are more than a few scenes where I laugh so hard I almost fell out of my chair.
As far as the magic meets science goes it's not too bad if you take into account the worldview of each.
All in all this is a good read and I'm looking forward to more. As far as the humans overhauling the weapons of the aliens in does make sense if you look at their world view. - gnarlytreemanRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Ok the story isn't bad. Alien abduction ftw! And the probing is done by the humans!
This has comedy elements, and action.
Grammar is ok, but paragraphs are way too short, many of them could be combined
The whole "advanced alien race with magic" falls apart badly around chapter 20 with weapons development. Huge plothole, not even funny. A intergalactic empire which has conquered many worlds, suddenly gets their weapons overhauled by a human. Thats a big "Nope, doesn't make sense".
I would have rated a lot higher, but that plothole is soo big and stupid i just can't.
