Fight. Evolve. Or die...

Description
Earth is guilty of genocide through mana deprivation. No one alive knew of this, they found out when the Greater Mileu Council reintroduced mana to Earth and gave the sentence: At their coming of age, some would be chosen by Lottery to participate in the game.
Earth was told they would be removed from being punished, the lottery rescinded, but not when or how. And in the meantime, their children were selected and sent into the Game where they fought, they changed and were never the same.
Mosh was an ordinary farm boy, with dreams of being an academic and working to advance knowledge. Instead, he finds himself in the Game, fighting for his life, fighting for his existence, fighting to not become a monster. And in the Shadows on Earth, the rebellion grows. Hidden even from them, those responsible for the long-ago genocide stir, looking to enact new plans to restore the purity of Earth, to purge mana in its entirety.

- Cynthia DawnRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall: This has been such an entertaining read! From the very beginning I was hooked as I watched the story unfold. This is a story that has many parts as we get a view at our main player and those working behind the scenes of the greater universe and game. And there’s a lot of discontent as those on Earth are forced to endure a lottery that picks new players to enter the game.
Style: the style is well done and makes the story an enjoyable read. The author effortlessly moves back and forth between the multiple points of view and gives the reader the right information at the right time.
Story: this story is wide and full of depth as we get the big picture of what’s going on in the greater universe as well as the story of Mosh unfolding on Earth. It’s so great to see the unity of Earth as they support the unfortunate lottery winners and how much Mosh’s family supports him too.
Character: There is a nice cast of characters in this story and they all have depth and volume to them. Their development is well done.
Grammar: I didn’t find a lot to pick at. Author has been doing well with Grammar. - TorchlightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a great fantasy, it has progression, conspiracies and, as the total says, evolution. It takes the concept of gamifying the world through stats and classes and makes it feel more solid, expanding on the idea of a system to be ingrained into everyday life. Unlike the standard system, everything the character has or does is taken into account, want to make a long-range attack? Work on it, if you can do it, the system will register it, if you can’t do it, them’s the breaks, work harder.
The story itself follows the young her on his journey, however, what makes this so great is that the main character is never shown to be heroic (as far as is written). The feelings of the MC towards the goal are ambiguous, merely aiming for survival. His aspirations may align with any number in the greater political spectrum, but first he must make his way to the position where he can be a player in the chess match.
The author does a great job of showing the reader what is happening, able to keep secrets and conspiracies hidden from its characters and readers alike.
If you are looking for a progression story, that takes a unique look into the use of common themes, I highly recommend giving this story a go.
