In the quiet village of Hawthorne, Joslyn was the village outcast. Having barely survived a house fire that killed her parents as a child, she was left permanently disfigured with no friends or family. Stuck living as the village elder's servant as the only way to pay off her family's debt, her banal day-to-day life suddenly brightens when a beautiful woman arrives and not only acknowledges Joslyn, but also becomes her one and only friend. However, that happiness is short-lived as Joslyn awakes one morning to find that her new friend is missing in a wake of destruction and she's been accused of her murder. When all seems lost, another stranger walks into town.
