Description
After languishing as a prisoner of war for 22 years, Elven prince Faladel Mithrandir finally has a chance at freedom. Selected as one of the hundreds of prisoners sent to work the mines that power the Dwarven empire, usually a short, unpleasant death sentence, escape seems barely possible. Trusting the wrong people will get him killed and first impressions aren’t always accurate. Even if he escapes, it would take weeks of travel through war shattered lands with enemy soldiers around every bend before he reaches friendly territory.
Betrayals and hidden friends, lost species and new discoveries, deep seated fears and Monsters of every form await him on his journey.
Let the adventures begin!

- 3DDRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Excellent grammar, punctuation and other writing skills. So rare, even in top-rated stories. I guess mostly due to there being no volunteer editing system on RR? Not sure about that... as I haven't seen one yet?
A very good story premise with believable characters.
No overboard scenes or overpowered characters - which is a nice change from most of the stories on RR. Nicely descriptive scenes with no long-winded or boring narrative
Very early days yet in the plot development so I'll modify this review later once more chapters are released, which the author says will be frequent.
My only critique would be not yet knowing more about the MC's history, though I expect his background will be revealed more as the story progresses.
Usually I'm not a fan of race war stories but this story hasn't yet taken it to extremes. No real violence or rabid hate in the story so far, so quite believable for the scenes written. The author has trod the fine line of drama and realism without going to falling into the trap of so many new authors of overemphasis of the story's drama and plot points or using shock tactics to raise a reaction from the readers.
Overall, I think this will be a very good story. I recommend trying it out for yourself.
I have given the story 5 stars for all aspects as it greatly exceeds the standard of the majority of new stories submitted. That said, I'm not an expert on grammar and punctuation so take that into account when using this review.
A big thank you to the author for submitting their story on RR. I know how hard it is to write a story - and then to have people tear it apart as though we are omniscient on what ALL our readers want or how they perceive our stories. We all have our preferences and our own understanding of the author's words. - FencePostCatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is terrific!
It has a similar feel to LoTR (no ridiculously OP fights every two steps) but it doesn't have the same slow pace where it takes three hours of reading to have anything interesting happen. It is a nice, relaxing read that you can dive into and not be pulled out by bad grammar. The story is first person present, which is a little strange and unique, but not in a bad way. The characters are interesting and different, not falling into stereotype pitfalls.
Overall, an amazing read that I would suggest to anyone who loves high fantasy!
Thank you Author and keep up the good work!
