The author admits it, and after reading it further, it really is a traditional novel and not really a web series. I have read many traditional books from Andy Weir, Douglas Richard, A.G. Riddle, and a lot of the other books, and the book literally felt that way.
Style: Long coherent narration that makes the reader build up your expectations and your curiousity about the story. However, the style of narration can be really really slow for webnovels. If this were a traditional book, I'd definitely turn the page over and over.
Story: Bell is an interesting protagonist will well-explained background (quite uncommon, really, even in my own book) that is interesting and compelling. I can feel what it feels in his own eyes, and I can also correlate with it's motivation.
Grammar: Borderline spotless, I don't see any mistake here or there, then again, I enjoyed the story very much that I don't see any problem in the grand scheme of things. For me, the story feels very good to read and I'd prefer to read more than the three chapters that I have read.
Character: It has always been good, but I think three chapters aren't enough to judge that sector, especially with how this book is written.

I don't generally go in for LitRPGs, but I like this one very much. There's fantastic worldbuilding. And Bel's dynamic with Meph the snake is quite endearing.
For context, I found this story in a review swap thread, and I was so taken with the cover (I also have a dope 8 serpent on my book's cover), that I went ahead and read this story without permission or agreement. Whoopsie.
Anyway, I read the Recap Chapter: Melchior's Findings and then dove into Chapter 9. I don't like meandering beginnings. Even though the potential is greater, my trust is hardly won over. I prefer to start where the action starts. If you're like me, I recommend doing the same. I had no trouble jumping into Chapter 9, and the author makes this Choice inviting.
I've read so many "problematic lead character survives the end of the world and is thrust into a video game" set-ups at this point; I can't read anymore. But the 6 chapters I read were compelling enough, I might swing back around and read the intro one day if in time I fall in love with the world.
The grammar is good. There are stylistic Choices that I enjoy.
    Style is excellent sans purple.
Story is very good but a bit undetermined at times. Taking over 13 chapters to deliver LitRPG charts and graphs is a Choice, and I'm very curious to see how that pans out.
Character is good but I've only spent any real time with Bel, and he's fine company. Meph the snake isn't so much a character as he is a sounding board/hidden ace up Bel's sleeve. Paradoxically, Meph the snake is the shining star of the cast. I want one. Other characters all seem to exist solely to deliver exposition and reveal aspects Bel's personality and/or advance Bel's plot. They're satellites.

Only read two chapters so far. The author has a superb style after my own heart - dry, witty, dark - and the character has plenty of bad luck to make us root for him! When I teach my students to write, the first thing I teach them is to make the reader care for the MC - and this author does this very well!
One quick example of the writing - his parents left his sister 75% of the will - for her kids college fund- only she doesn't have kids! Ha! Loved that! But he is too nice to sue, of course!
It's probably too early to review this, as we are still very much in Act 1, with forebodings perhaps of a huge earthquake to come, but the end of the world is clearly on its way, and I want to read on to find out how our MC deals with it (or doesn't!). And yes, the snake (Mephisto) is very cool (great name!).
A very impressive start, some of the highest quality prose I have read on RR, and I shall be reading on and updating! If you in any way like disaster fiction or down and out male MCs - read this!

I attempted to read this three times. Not because it’s crap, mind you, but because from the first few lines, I knew I needed to slow down and properly enjoy it. It’s honestly terrific.
It’s the tale of Bel and his serpentine companion. Bel happens to be the last human saddled with a quest no sensible being would dare undertake, burdened by a responsibility so colossal it could make gods cower. The prize for his trouble? Resurrecting humanity. No pressure.
    Story
Right from the start, you’re clobbered with the main character’s angst and the clever ways he wrestles with it. If the narrative had been only about that, I’d still have stayed glued to the page, thanks to the engaging prose. Then—bam!—the real epic begins, promising a glorious sci-fi/fantasy mashup, with monstrous stakes and a bonus snake. What’s not to love?
    Style
The writing positively oozes detail. There’s just enough world-building to make everything believable, and the sprinkling of daily-life moments makes it all feel vivid. It’s the kind of style that might wiggle its way into my own writing—yes, I like it that much.
    Characters
Holy bejesus, these characters are fantastic. They pop right off the page like people you’ve met in a pub (assuming your local pub is filled with dramatic weirdos). Their personalities are exaggerated in the best way, and I’m crossing my fingers that some early favorites will return. Still, I’m psyched for whoever else pops up.
    Grammar
Zero issues. Smooth sailing from start to finish. All hail the proofreader gods.
