I believe in catgirl supremacy 🛐
Theres nothing else to say. I've always known there were fellow kindred spirits. Any story that incorporates catgirls is good in my books. Thankfully, this story is interesting, well written, and free from horrible grammar. There's nothing I could ask for, but more chapters!

How dare this story be so good. I'm filing a complaint with the author—it oughta be against the rules to hit me in the feels with a story like this.
It's a porn-logic catgirls isekai with a cishet male protagonist who's kind of a dumbass and I love it so much. "Matt, you moron," I laughed over and over again. This story has no right to be full of entertaining characters, an actual plot and worldbuilding, and remarkably good writing. How dare this story get me invested in Ravyn's history and traumas, and Yumi's decisions and dilemmas. How dare all of the lurid descriptions of outfits be totally right up my interest-alley. How dare.

Our brave MC, Matt, begins this story by passing to the great beyond after making a small, silly, and fatal error. After being presented with a small selection of worlds, he chooses to be isekai'd off to Nyarlea, a world governed by RPG-like rules and populated almost entirely by cute catgirls (understandable, in my opinion.) It's a fairly lighthearted and trope-y premise.
He arrives, and over the course of the first few chapters, he slowly discovers that surviving in this world isn't as easy as he thought it'd be, and he quickly gets his act together so he can help his newfound catgirl companions survive as well.
The girls Matt encounters are more than just waifu-bait, they're full-blown characters in their own right. You come to care for and adore them much like Matt does, and Matt himself becomes endearing through his relatability, resourcefulness, humility, and compassion-- oh, and because he doesn't come off as an OP self-insert harem protagonist.
Overall, Everyone's a Catgirl!, while presenting itself as a goofy harem isekai at the beginning, is a story you'll come to love through its humor, adorable character interactions, adventures, tension-filled moments, and worldbuilding. It's a charming story that takes tropes, flips them on their heads, and does it well.

Having made it farther into the story than previously reviewed, I figured I would update my thoughts on this story.
While it seems like any isekai combined with the allure of cat-girls, it's definitely more. Personally, I went in with low expectations as one should do despite an already intriguing summary or the promising (or the opposite) reviews that others leave. They're opinions after all.
My own opinion on the MC remains the same. From chapters 10 to 140+ you can see how much he's grown and matured. In the beginning, he does very much feel like a young man who's full of assumptions and ideas of a world that don't reflect his reality. A reality that he'll have to slowly come to terms with.
It helps that the world is developed not to repeat or cash in on typical isekai tropes. Or even shonen-type tropes at that. Instead, readers are given a luscious world of many cultures, biomes, and minor characters that do matter. Even a one-off that you may not think was important, may turn back up to surprise you. Gone is the honeymoon phase of God-mode powered isekais and in its place is a welcomed taste of morals, values, ethics, and relationships.
The characters are the most important part. You grow to love them and want them to grow, progress, and crack out of their shells in some cases. All while praying your favorite gets a chance at a Side Quest and a little extra information into what shaped them. No pivotal man in this story is the same. No catgirl is the same. And it's a breath of fresh air.
I'm happy to say I believe this story is one I'll continue following until DoubleBlind gives us that final chapter. One I hope is a very, very long way off. It's a lovely read, well-written, and lacks any unsightly grammar issues that would trip you up and have you having to re-read a sentence or stumble forward back into the reading groove.
I encourage new readers to please give it a chance especially if you think the MC is a bit dumb or arrogant, even, at the start. Because i

Take all pre-conceptions about LitRPG stories and toss them out the window, cause Everyone’s a Catgirl is here to break the mold, and do so brilliantly!  Starting with the introduction and subsequent characterization of its MC, this story makes it abundantly clear that you’re in for a delightfully different ride altogether -- and it more than delivers on that promise.  Seeing Matt, our MC, get literally plopped into this world and not only have to scramble to learn to survive in it but also overcome his own emotional insecurities presents a refreshingly unique spin for an MC in this kind of story.  And seeing him learn/grow on his journey -- even if it’s a gradual process -- is already proving to be highly rewarding!  I can’t wait to see where he goes/what he learns next, and if he makes a few more fumbles and/or encounters more bouts of hilarity and misfortune along the way, all the better!  Because heroes who make mistakes, deal with them and come out on top and wiser for their missteps are the more compelling ones.
Then you’ve got the Catgirls themselves, all of whom are charming and incredibly endearing.  DoubleBlind wisely takes the time to build these characters and relationships so that you really come to care about them.  And those moments of development in-between the impressive action scenes truly do serve their purpose and enhance the overall experience.  This also leads me to another pro to highlight: the integration of comedy.  Going back to Matt, Everyone’s a Catgirl boasts a wry, sharp and genuinely funny sense of humor that it infuses into so much of the storytelling and helps bring you into the world even more.  This very much is an immersive experience, and the fact that the writing is consistently top-notch is like the cherry on top.
If something like Everyone’s a Catgirl is the type of quality that DoubleBlind debuts with, then I’m ecstatic to see what they come up with next!

There I was, minding my own business, looking for stories to read the first five chapters of and write an initial review when suddenly I binge read 70+ chapters and joined patreon to get five advanced chapters.
    Here was my thought process.
I don't watch much anime. The only JRPG I play is pokemon. I don't read Harem stories. I don't fully understand the attraction to catgirls (not weirded out about it, just confused because except for ears and a tail, they are still people), BUT I know that these things are often included in LitRPG, which I am a huge fan of, and didn't want to limit myself to what I can read because of subgenres that I don't actually know anything about.
So, I found this. And holy crap. From my understanding, the subgenres I don't typically go for aren't 1:1 tropes of the subgenres they represent. Doubleblind touches on those genres and circles them just enough to keep it accurate, but without slipping into the same old tired things we've read a million times. And for the subgenres I do know, he does the same thing.
And you think that would be aggravating as a fan of those genres, but honestly, it's super refreshing.
This is a new and shiny take on all of those, and I am absolutely here for it. It's also giving me a baseline to compare other things to in the future, which kind of feels unfair to the genres I didn't read before this.
Anyway, since I rambled so long, quick breakdown.
Style: This is quick paced, full of humor and care, whild also giving the mental and emotional feedback characters NEED to have. The worldbuilding is top notch, even though naming conventions are more for humor effect. I mean, the islands are just 1, 2, 3, 4 but in Japanese.
Grammar: Doubleblind polishes this so much that any typo or mistake would be shocking at this point.
Story: Way to make me care about a world whose base function is that everyone is a Catgirl. The world is alive and electric, and the story matches that atmosphere.
Characters:If I actually sat here and

Man, this was a ride. I've finished Volume One, and just starting into Volume Two. No story is perfect, but the things I liked so far outstripped the things I didn't that it's hard for me to even remember them.
I want to touch upon all the advanced review topics, but let's start with the one that requires the least commentary. The grammar was pretty flawless. I was a little late to the game, so by the time I came around it had already been sanded, polished, sanded, and polished and by the time I passed by I could see my reflection in it.
Style is excellent. This was my first LitRPG, so I won't try to deeply compare it to others in the genre. Obviously, I can't. And I'll be even more honest, even if it was an outlier in a treasured genre, knocking the heads of all the sacred cows, I'd probably like it even more. We need more bold takes on established genres. Matt is a little different from the typical harem protagonist, at least the ones I'm familiar with, but I'll get to that later.
The story is excellent. I found it easy to follow, and even easier to get absorbed into. The big test for me, of whether I found myself thinking deeply about the true history of certain characters or monsters, what might happen later in the story, or who might not turn out to be what they claim... all passed with flying colors. I thought a lot about the Defiled, and I'm eager to see if my many theories about them turn out to be true.
Character is where I have to give a little ding, but a very little one. First, there's Matt. I knew Matt would need to grow on me. I did not like him at first. The only thing I didn't know is whether he'd grow on me like a wart, or if he was an acquired taste, like coffee. Mostly, he's coffee. I learned to appreciate how often he fell short of what a "true hero" would be. I liked when he was misguided, too quick to judge others, and didn't see things coming that should've been obvious. You may HATE Matt for that reason, but I learned to like him for it. Quit

I stopped reading when he didn't listen to someone for what must have been the 20th time... Also you treat your party well... Then don't listen to them over and over and over again.
That rant over. If none of that bothers you, i recommend the story, it is more fleshed out than most fun comedy/silly stories like this. It isn't bad... Just not really good either.
    The story telling is good.
World building is a trope and puns, but that is to be expected.
Mc is an idiot. Others seem a bit 2d, but aren't as bad as the mc who just doesnt think things through
    Grammar, I didn't notice anything.
Basically the mc is annoying which I just couldn't stomach.
I mean seriously how many times did you turn away people who wanted to give you advice.
Even the slave harem hero... At least find out what he knows if you want to know enough to protect your girls...
Also, I know it is a trope to get cut off before we learn something important, but I consider it something of a bad story telling crutch and it is everywhere.
Also the 1000 to 1 ratio implys there are only about 4000 to 5000 cat girls or so... With 1000 on each island it and some monsters able to easily kill them you would think they would be more defensive of their island and more pushing to make babies...

A story hindered by bland and uninteresting sex scenes. Very fun and in depth world building. Romance exists.
Style: Worldbuilding is great has a very amusing naming schemes. Romance is cute, but not interesting. Action is well done.
Story: Some good interactions. No real plot or conflict. Slice of life with some action.
    Grammar: No heinous mistakes
Character: A lot of emotive experiences but only existant at within the periphery of the protagonist. If someone is off screen they are practically in stasis. Character have solid emotional responses and reaction but still feel flat. Protagonist stops being fatally stupid after the first 20 chapters.
Extra:System and Sorcery: They exist. Just barely. The system plays into the world building and isn't obtrusive. Sorcery is bland. Literally RPG spells in most cases.
Its a slice of life that does everything mediocrely with the exception of world building which is good.
They really should have a wordcount on reviews considering they have a minimum. How many more words do I need??
There really not anything else I care to write. There's some stats that appear as ??? That never get explained or reappear. I can't tell if charisma leveling is joke, or something that exists. Familiars are kinda wack and like the rest of the System/Sorcery are woefully ignored.

I presonallly see the MC and side chicks as totally bland and mostly ... extremly ?adaptive?, espacially the MC.
It starts already with a certain being that reincarnates the MC and how she see´s the way he died.
Then our MC has choices were to reincarnet and why he chooses what is totally Noob/kid gamer like (no he isnt in a game).
Then forwad he is only singlemindedly doing thinks, without thinking at all.
The sidecharackter are bland espacially the first 2 and how they treat mc after almost dying twice is totally inappropiat for the announced difficulty of that world.
