- BreadedRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is my first time doing a review so I don’t really know if this will be helpful or not but since barely anyone commented or put a review I might as well be the first. (Also my grammar sucks.)
I believe the story is good. In summary it starts off with our characters crash landing their space ship cruiser on an unexplored planet with monster and magic and what not. From then on our characters must find a way to return to the main army with the help of friendly natives, while trying to fight off the terrifying monsters and the tyrannical empire of this new world.
This isn’t one of those stories where our main characters use their advance technology and knowledge to steamroll the natives. Don’t get me wrong they still end up killing a ton of natives but the opponents are actually competent, they find ways to adapt to our characters way of fighting and our characters experience losses. Not only that but they are also put at a significant disadvantage such as dealing with environmental hazards, ammo and food shortages, and lack of man power. This gives the story a sense of urgency and disparity.
As for the for grammar and how this story is written there is a few things to note:
The story is translated: I believe the author is Russian and has translated his work to English, now I’m not an English teacher or whatever but I think this story is pretty readable. I really didn’t have a hard time with it.
You will see the story through multiple POVs: Of course you will read the story though the point of view though our main character. But every now and again the point of viewing switches to different characters to help add to the story. The transitions between characters can be a bit rough but when you start to understand what is happening and who is who things will start coming together.
As of making this review there are 39 chapters in this story, and from what the author notes said he is going to stop translating the story to English.
Well I think that’s it, I hope this h - HollexRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I was really quite surprised by this read, it has a very good background, interesting characters and surprisingly well translated and you can hardly notice it, In spite of all the warnings in the description.
Honestly if you like fantasy, magic, military stories and science fiction this is a highly recommended read. I wouldn't be at all surprised if you told me that the author is military or has close contact because the story has that aura of being told by a military man.
The only bad thing I can point out is that there are moments in the story where it gets quite confusing and you lose the thread of the plot.
In short, for me “tentatively” it has a 4/5 rating, because as far as I've gotten you could say that it is only the prologue, but still shows a lot of potential.
