Description

[Eternity awaits]

Zayne, born a coreless; unworthy of the life of an adventurer, dredged through his life with a wistful hope for a grand and exciting future; yet destined to live a life he never wanted, a life he yearned to forget. His grandiose dream of exploring a monolith and living in the wilderness cladded his heart, squeezing him awake every morning, yanking his arms and legs to pick upsomethingand get stronger. Years were spent slaving away with all the weapons he could muster. Years of sweat dripped from a heart-wrenching agony, praying, beggingthat his efforts would bear fruit someday.

A disaster ripped the lives of everyone he cared about in a form of a monster invasion, and all he could do was watch. Zayne collapsed as a dark beast slammed his figure into the wall along with his so-called years of effort. All those years gave was an illusion. Death followed suit.

Waking up in a cart headed to nowhere, Zayne was granted another chance at a future by a man he’d never seen before; a man shrouded in a cloak with an ever-shifting face. Promises of a new future yanked his heartstrings. What he told might be lies; jargon told to ease Zayne’s plight, but he suspended his disbelief for the chance at a better future.

Emboldened with a promise, fueled with intense sorrow and regret, Zayne’s eyes glowered under the mists of midnight. The future awaited, and so was Eternity.

As said in the title, this has a system differrent from usual. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't talk too much about it. I'll just say, it has to do something with Essence Gems and slots.
Anyways, the writing is good, the character too.
Only a few chapters so far, so I can't really judge it more.

I really love the story so far, the only reason I didn't give it a five star is because there is a lot of grammatical errors. A lot of words are used in the past tense when the sentence is clearly talking about the present tense. Other than that, the main character is really relatable and the system and story seem really fleshed out.
