- FelixKunRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've given it a 5 star based on the potential that it could have. Right now, it's a bit of an unpolished gem. The author sometimes mistakenly uses present tense which causes confusion in some passages but that can be easily rectified with some editorial love. Anyway, looking forward to seeing what the author has planned!
- Sarkahn A.MRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I always give new stories what I call the 3 chapter rule. I have a child at home write as well so my time is extremely limited but usually by the first three chapters of any story you know where it is headed and the foundational development is there to build off from. That being said, I am just in awe of how great this story introduces me into the world and its characters. For me, the character interactions are what put it together holistically, but not only that the systematic flow of story design has me very intrigued. The first three chapters will always have a special place in my heart because of what it does to build a story, but not only that, plant the seeds of plot to sprout during the climatic events. I plan on saving this and giving a more proper advanced review later, but damn this has me. It all comes down to flow and the flow is definitely there. Very easy to read and follow.
- drewclaarRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story sounds like it has a lot to offer. I honestly think there's a lot more than 3 chapters of information here that is missing and if you go back and expand the narrative this is going to make an epic story. It just feels like there is so much information missing it's hard to follow the events with any type of clarity but everything I'm getting from it is a really good idea and just needs polishing. All in all I would say when you go back to edit the chapters I would try to make it a bit more extensive on the introduction of the characters. The jump from chapter 1 to chapter 2 is a bit abrupt also and I would maybe try to transition into it better.
Maybe something about who is by the fire and give some backstory about the dream you mentioned. Have Pertion be more than just "the boy" in the first chapter and give him a little depth so his actions have a lot more meaning when he does what he does. It just seems like there is so much potential for this to be an epic fantasy and I would love to read it when you get it really going.
