This is an age where innovation and prestige are provided by magic, which is no longer a fantasy of days past or superstition—it is the force of mystic happenings and mankind's cheat code to advancement.

Due to this, the major academic institutions in magic have gained a new status quo, a social power surpassing that of big businesses at times. Alongside training individuals to lead the latest generation of magic forward, theArcsworn, the academies house some of the best and brightest mages, people who forward the agenda of societal evolution through magic.

Every ten years, the major global magic academies join together to participate in theGrand Front, a competition of tradition and a trial of magical power as the academies choose their fifteen best Arcsworn to fight in the academy's name and win theArchblaze, a fragment from magic's origin and the ultimate status symbol for the winning academy, a ticket to innovation and prestige.

Asher Blacklight looks and seems like an ordinary freshman atAionios Academy, a so-called "average one." His only potent magical ability is Enhancement Magic.

However, during the Selection Ceremony, where the fifteen Arcsworn were chosen to compete in the Fifty-First Grand Front, among the hundreds of candidates, he was selected to be a part of them. Now, in a situation he wants out of, he grapples with these new responsibilities while trying to find his place in a world that is too chaotic for his good.
