Description

They called him the Divine Enchanter. A man who reached the apex on the profession of enchanting. Albeit of his position of great power, he decides that nothing matters anymore as he has grown tired of living after millennia.

This is the story of a powerful man that decided to end his life, only to survive and find himself in a changed version of his world. A mysterious entity has taken over the world and everyone adores it as it gives away free power unlike the divinities of yore. What has happened since he has been away?

Author’s note:

This story is a mix of everything but centered on crafting. There will be action, there will be politics, but the MC is an enchanter, not a fighter or a diplomat.

The MC begins with an existencial crisis and suicide thoughts. (Added Traumatising Content warning, though I won't further than that in the story)

I stumbled upon this little gem while looking for Enchanting-themed stories. I almost stopped myself from starting because of it being in Hiatus, but oh boy am I happy to have kept going!
The story follows Nido, the once known as a Divine Enchanter, famous crafter and scholar of the arcane. It starts with his last and greatest triumph, one in which he entends to give up on life, before things take an unexpected turn. Appearing in a nondescript location in the middle of nowhere, he awakens to a body not even of an adult, and with the unpleasant presence of the Records — a System. It's a story heavy on crafting (very enjoyable, so far) and an very old expert enchanter trying to figure out what the hell has happened to him. Definitely worth a shot.
Style: The author's style is enjoyable, fluid and experienced enough to envelop you while avoiding any interference with the reading experience from flowery language. The only thing that may not fit perfectly (a minor issue, really) is how the venerable Divine Enchanter can sometimes talk in a slightly rough or informal way unexpectedly. That would be fine for other characters, such as Eleonore the half-elf bard, but hardly for someone of his status. Despite that, it has been an excellent ride so far.
Grammar:This part is a bit tricky. This story should be gramatically perfect, as the author has demonstrated his or her capability to do so multiple times. However, for some mysterious reason, the chapters are riddled with very minor typos of phonetical origin. My best bet is that the author is using a Dictation AI to write the chapters, and so misplaced homophones pop up every other paragraph. It makes no sense otherwise, because the author can clearly spell those words properly (they appear perfectly spelled numerous times). This would be solved with simple proofreading, but it does not distract much from the reading experience. It is overall very enjoyable, and the errors are very easy to ignore.

I like the start of this, for what is out it is very entertaining so far only losing half a star because of the plethora of minor typos. Not bad enough to overly detract but still noticable enough that I can't give it a full score. I really hope we get a lot more chapters and that things don't escalate too quickly like what happens to most crafting based stories.
