- MarcusEvergreenRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'm not that picky of a reader but Stare into the Abyss is so far, so good if you ask me.
I started reading this novel and just caught up right now. Story is interesting and engaging. I noticed how author-san likes to end things at a cliffhanger which is nice. It made me eager to know what happens next. I can tell that the story had some thought put onto it.
Style and grammar were pretty good too. However, sometimes, the wording can get a little stuffy at times. But it was manageable. It said that author-san used AI to assist them at writing, but it really doesn't seem like it. Yes, there are parts here and there that seem a little too much but there weren't that many parts like that. Kudos to author-san for integrating the AI edits really well.
Characters were well built too. The dynamic between the MC, Desire, and Zara is very enjoyable. Something about Mari being the anxious and clueless kid, Desire being the robotic helper, and Zara being the high energy Mentor type just works well. The occasional banter and jokes work well too; it makes them feel more alive and real in a sense.
Overall, pretty good and entertaining read. Some parts can be polished to make it better. I would recommend to kind of ease off the descriptive language a little to make it an easier and more fluid read. Looking forward for more.
