Description

Once upon a time, there lived two great and mighty spirits on the mountain. One loved humans, the other hated them. When their differences could not be reconciled, they came to blows, and the human loving spirit was chased out.

The banished spirit wandered the world. Rather than an exile, the spirit viewed her situation as an extended vacation. She saw all the sights and people she'd only ever heard about on the mountain.

But it was a little lonely. No one could see her or hear her. She was a rootless spirit with no place to call home.

And then, one day, she found a friend.

When anger and jealousy take everything, only love can create something new. This is the story of perseverance, sacrifice, and forgiveness.

I am in awe! This story is SO beautiful, SO well written, and SO enchanting!!! Somehow the balance of imagery, characterization, and some special magic from the author come together in a truly divine way. I love that the story feels self-contained and has an end; the length is perfect. I can't overstate how amazing this novel felt while reading it. Infinity/10 would recommend.

This reads like an old legend.
The kind of legend that one might feel holds some measure of truth within.
A beautiful tale of life, wisdom, love, beginnings and endings.
Simple, elegant, fluid. It lacks nothing to make it a complete tale and has nothing in excess that would be superfluous to the core message of this wonderful narrative. Simply perfect.
This is a tale for everyone, young or old, boy or girl, foolish or wise, come and read this tale and gain a measure of warmth in you heart.

A very brief but touching story of a mountain spirit and a king's rise to power. The writing style and the plot had me enraptured from the very beginning. It wasn't just a piece of writing but a piece of art, chinese art to be more precise😉. It's also very intriguing how different the writing style in this story is as compared to its sequel and yet both have a touch of novel beauty. I loved them! Don't hesitate to give it a chance.

    This is really sweet.
It's a rare story that both feels complete and too short at the same time. This is that kind of story, where I need to take some time after I've finished to process my thoughts and feelings.
Review must be 50 words long, but I'm not very good at putting my thoughts down on the page. You should read this, it's well worth it.

A short and sweet story about how a curious spirit thats falls in love after being kicked out of her home by her brother, pretty light wuxia mentions. As a book of its own its pretty good and a little under 200 pages so i really recommend it, but there is a second book of the trilogy, sadly its on hiatus and it has been for 2 years

Hands down one of the best stories I’ve ever read. The short ones always get me. Usually when I’m done reading a good shorter story I’m left wanting more. I can honestly say I don’t want more this was more than enough by itself. But there’s more a whole lot more and I’m looking forward to reading that.
Most of my favourite stories are my favourites not for how there written but the ideas behind the stories. A story could be my favourite  even if it’s not the best written. I’m happy to say this does not apply to this story. Reading it feels like I’m reading something professional and high quality, which makes the story even better and more enjoy able.
P.S thanks for the happy ending:)

This was a good read that began with a lot of telling and developed the setting slowly throughout the first half of the book before getting into more of the complex relationships and going on to a rather emotional ending. Some aspects such as the nature of the human soul and such are teased and then more solidified as the book progresses, though that leads to other issues of morality, good vs. evil and such that are not the focus or really developed. The prose is fine though it does take some time for the narrative voice to come into its own, or at least grip a reader like me. This was a good novella and was a fun read.

A sweet story with feelings and mischief. The first book is complete with a satisfying ending, while leaving enough room for Book 2 and 3.
The author description nicely fits the story and I'll avoir spoilers. I'll juste say that I quite enjoyed following the main character along,  she is now my favorite mountain spirit :)
