Description

The Demon Emperor had taken one billion lives and conquered the realms of elves, dwarfs, and giants. When the final realm of man fell to his armies, the stage was set for their world’s finale.

A spire of brilliant light pierced the sky, and as the land was torn asunder, the demon emperor met his death. It was not by the hands of a hero, or goddess’ champion, but by a system developer—a creator of the VRMMO Ark World—masquerading as a god!

“It’s ironic that it would be you,” said a voice in the black void of the quantum system. “Strange, that you’ve given me this quest, and stranger that I can’t do it without you.”

By the power of the thirteenth system developer, the “goddess” Amarytha, the demon emperor was reborn in a new video game where his character never came to be. In the Ark World Sandbox, humans rule as gods over nations of NPCs. Through mastery of their administration commands, they hold absolute control. Only the demon emperor, liberated by the Player System, can challenge them.

A crusade begins with one step. Freedom from humanity begins here!

I'm going to be upfront here. This isnotan anti-hero story. So, if you've come for anti-hero you might not enjoy it.

The cover art I commissioned from my friend @cyborgraptor. You can find her on twitter, or tumblr. Absolutely awesome person, and way too humble. She's also a great dps on WoW, and her and I always fought for top of the meters.

I update every day, or nearly every day. I'll be updating this quickly as I bring it to parity with my other sites. Afterwards, expect 6 or 7 chapters a week. This is my only job and I approach it professionally.

    Read till chapter 21
Style- the story has an actual original concept hidden in it, the issue is the author explained it wrong and so people who start it expect a Demon Lord type when its more of a idea setup thing for the in-story Admins.
Story- the story was rather crazy going at first and if you are reading it with you expecting a demon like emperor it could disappoint then you get an exposition on the heroines side, but if you can get past it and can accept/like the demon lord is actually more of a antihero you’ll find yourself liking how it progresses.
Grammar- no major complaints here as the writings relatively good and not likely to bump you out of your immersion readingbut there is a few rough patches every once in a while but nothing to really complain about thus far.
Character- I say the way the “Demon Lord” is acting now is relatively realistic as before he was essentially a child who had to deal with a terrible childhood and cursed to kill and make people hate you at key points of your life and finally being freed with all the guilt still crashing at you. Then theres the Heroine who is lost after being betrayed by her brother and being stuck in a game with nobody else to properly talk to as she considered npcs as just that, she seems somewhat broken which millions of years of loneliness can do but you can actively see her trying to pull herself back together after she learns of a chance where she could actually fulfill her dreams though granted I have little to base this all off of...
Well the story is a bit deceptive compared to the premise that the synopsis described and the beginning is honestly a bit jarring to get use to. The basic thing is though that its not really a demon lord thing. It's more the npc who was supposed to be the villain who had a actual personality whas being forced to do certain actions in his life or be controled so he becomes the “demon lord”. This story is mostly about a sentient being who thinks himself as a monster gaining fr

The summary of this story got me pretty excited. Reincarnated Demon Emperor? Main goal is to fight the gods? Great!
Then came the actual story. The first chapters were okay, seemed to be building up to more. The whole arc system with a humanity that got wiped out due to a nebulous backstory of alien invasion and disease. Alright. POV switches, perfectly fine. Nothing really spectacular. It’s not exactly what was promised, but it served to broaden the story I guess.
It was only after the *Main Character* reincarnated that I hit my limit.
This isn’t the Demon Emperor that was promised. This guy is a bland incredibly generic... *meh* protagonist that after twenty five chapters of reading I can’t even remember his name beyond it starting with a V or Z. He lacks the flare of actual character he really should possess, instead just being kind of nebulously good. With the added excuse of “oh he was minimizing destruction” so it’s totally okay for him to be a hero now since he was “forced into it” by the video game script. Which is not only boring, but just tosses away any of his actual crimes or guilt/pain he has over them. As a concept the literal worst person in the world realizing their mistakes and wanting to change can work, shadow the conqueror pulled it off. But this is not that.
Mowing on, given his previous life I expected... brutality, charisma, Competence.  Sure he can fight well enough I guess, but it’s nothing special or outstanding. In terms of experience and interacting with others he acts like a complete and total novice. He shows little to nothing of that. Where’s the swagger? Villainous overconfidence? The Fun Factor? Tactical/strategic knowledge?Mechanical/magic/physical   Knowledge? All we get is fairly generic stats and skills.
Sad thing is, I like *Mad* as a character, but given the main character’s backstory their relationship should not be playing out the way it is. I.e. completely one sided mentor, and totally incompetent student.
    If the main charac
