Embrace the Blade

Description

Born crippled, it was no surprise when James Ransom died young, but he was offered an opportunity - a mission: to go to a new world and become strong enough to kill the hidden boss behind the final boss. Now in a new world he must research and study the system to take advantage of it, find his strengths; form alliances and find party members to become strong enough to face the end.

This story does use Multiple perspectives and tells stories that add to the MC's. I've been given this feedback enough that I feel the need to mention that growth (levels, skills, classes, etc.) is slow, intentionally so, but constant.

This book is a rewrite of the original Embrace the Blade. The timeline for this one is completely separate and you do not need to read the original to understand what is going on. If you want to check out the original you can find it here (just a warning that they are NOT good):ETB Drafts 1&2

If you came here from the original EtB, WELCOME!!

Solid start, at chapter7 now. A lot has changed from the old story, but the feel is largely the same. The story pulls you in leaving you wanting more. It has a good flow to it and the story is moving along at a quick pace so far. Very few grammer mistakes, making it a smooth read. Some of the characters have a few unusual quirks, and many of the old characters have yet to make an appearance, but they are largely fleshed out and add to the story. One of my favorites. Definitely looking forward to more.

I've read both the OG and the current Embrace the Blade and I keep falling in love with the novel each time I read it. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see more updates!

Author is very good at "Show, don't Tell", and he's presenting the story at its own pace.  The characters are excellent and compelling.  The story is your typical Isekai, however the characters are well done, fleshed out and feels real.  The author is trying very hard to not break viewpoint, and so far doing a superb job.
Please note, there are three rewrites.  Start at the third rewrite, and if you're interested in story evolution, and character development, read the other two rewrites. This is really good story, I cannot recommend enough.  Go read NAU!

Thank you, I've really enjoyed reading your story. I would like to read more. I don't give 5 stars because I don't think I know what is the best or perfect so I give 4.5 for what I think is best or enjoyed the most. I'm telling you this because I want to explain why I think your story deserves this rank from me. It is my own personal bais. Anyway with that context let me now explain why.
I did not enjoy your character to begin with, I just really enjoy the litrpg setting. His (for me) extremely violent tendencies stunk of despair and a need to quash, well anything and everything really! Instead I saw someone who despite his own despair fought to protect and liberate his own soul after his body was liberated. I admire that, thank you again for your story.

This is honestly my first time writing a review on this site but this fiction was so good that I felt the need to. Now I haven't actually read the first two drafts of this story so I can't really comment on how it may have improved, but I can comment on everything else about it, so let's go!
    Style:
A wonderful style with complete mastery over show don't tell; even when we're being told about things that have happened "off screen" we are still shown the character's thoughts about those things such to the point that never throughout my read of the chapters thus far have I felt that I haven't been with the characters through every step of their journey.
    Story:
Incredibly good; I find new things hidden in the text every time I reread it (something that I don't find common even in published books). The author puts a lot of attention on the little details of their world, making it feel fleshed out and real. They also leave little plot threads dangling that I really hope lead somwhere. Though with the quality of the story thus far I'm not all that worried about them not leading anywhere.
    Grammar:
I'm not really sure whether I want to give this four stars or four and a half stars. For the most part the grammar is very good, but there are still a number of typos hidden in the text. Not anything that you would necessarily notice on a first read-through, but they are there nonetheless.
    Characters:
Out of everything this is where the fiction shines the most (a truly impressive feat given how great everything else in Embrace the Blade is). Our main character, Crimson, is an extremely competent individual, going above and beyond in terms of skill and effort. He is not, however, a Mary Sue. He has clear character flaws and is, above all else, a human being with feelings and emotions that don't always have to be purely rational (but still make sense in context). This extends to other characters as well, his future party members and Emma being the most obvious examples. But even the

The story has improved yet again. Flows better and has less plot holes and isn’t as rushed as I remember very nice can’t wait for more.

I love this story and everything about it but I do have one large gripe about it.
The level limit as far as we know is level 100, meaning that the mc will likely reach that point at some point in the story, problem is after how ever many chapters I've read, the mc hasn't even gotten a class yet, even though he has been elegible for a few chapters, I get the reasoning but it feels like a really slow burn so far.

Have been reading this since before the rewrite. So I will give 2 reviews, one for the previous story and then one for the current one.
Original incarnation of Embrace the Blade I would give a 3.5
I liked the story and your world you created for the MC. It did have some grammer issues that I remember.
Current Incarnation of Embrace the Blade I would still give a 3.5
The story changed a bit from its previous incarnation. Nothing bad just different. Your story writing seems to have improved and has less grammer issues.
I rated it a little low only because its still early in the story and I'm waiting to see how you progress.
