- lisstlesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A great read so far! Some cool dips into the premise behind a system-fueled class dungeon fighter in a fantasy setting. The action and mechanics themselves are enjoyable to read and well thought out, with a lot still to explore in it and hints and further and further progressions.
My personal favorite part is the intrigue behind the different factions- the ones in power, and then the ones fighting against them, and those fighting all sides. There's a good focus on different pantheons and how some gods are and are not allowed, depending on who's in power and where in the world. We're set in one country, but I'm looking forward to see more and more of the world!
The main character's patron god is one of the most interesting parts of the story, and we've only gotten peaks at the whole of it and it's true function.
If you're looking for a well written story with grinding aspects, as well as juicy conspiracies and threading the needle of growing stronger without garnering suspicion, this is a must read!
One of the only stories I remember to check on without fail week to week, and something I look forward to on busy and hard days. - Bern2070Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is well written with a lot of dungeon exploration.
Some mystery outside the dungeons and thats what's pushing the mc with some sense of urgency for his dungeon explorations which works well in my opinion.
Main positive thing for me is that the litrpg elements don't take a back seat later in the story as it often seems to happen with some litrpg stories. - omniknight2008Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The original Dungeon Noble story and world-building was overall solid but had some problems with pacing that the author freely acknowledged. Certain mechanics should also be improved for clarity, and the cover image is much better as well. The rewrite is looking good so far. Looking forward to seeing what Jake can do.
- FlokistarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is quiet addictive, from the first chapter it draw me to read more until there are no more.
Even though I didn't read the old version I'm guessing that the author spend a lot of time to perfect it and make it better and he did an amazing job.
The story establishes an intriguing world with a unique system of Ascension and Classes. The fact that the mc class is different than the rest and will die if his secret was exposed made me read the story in anticipation
Grammar: The text generally maintains good grammar and sentence structure. However, there are some minor issues like missing commas in a few places and a couple of sentences that could be broken into shorter ones for improved readability.
Character: The character of Jake is well-developed, with his background and motivations clearly presented. I especially liked the fact that his goals are clear from the beginning. The other characters are also interesting and have their own personalities
Style: The writing style effectively conveys the setting and atmosphere of the story, the author clearly took his time to carefully rewrite the story.
Overall, the story has the potential to grow into one of the best stories in the RR. - Justin MarksRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was really enjoying the original and this one seems to have taken all the best parts and distilled it so quite enjoying it. I waited for 10 chapters to be done to get a feel for it and it's still really good. The system and mysteries have the same hold and the fact that I know a lot of what's coming with the re-write and still and sucked in is great. Looking forward to getting caught up and to the new stuff!
- AlwaysreadinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall the rewrite has been very well done. I find the pacing to be much better while still having all the details needed to understand the story and characters. I look forward to the continuation of the story and how the characters will be fleshed out, especially with how the original left off. This could all chance later but for now it is a great story.
- PeterM99Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a good and interesting story but it won’t appeal to people who want MCs to be overpowered from day one. We’re seeing the MC Jake as he stumbles along the path to true power. We’re getting more and more hints about his interesting lineage and future powers and learning more about the wider world. I’m enjoying it quite a bit.
The first version of this story kept getting complaints from readers who didn’t want to wait for their pudding. I’ll admit that the pacing is better in this second try, but don’t complain if you still think it’s too slow. You’ve been warned.
It would help if this damned review system gave us a word count. How’ve you guys been? New year treating you well, I hope. We had an ice storm that messed up the whole area for a week and made it hard to get to follow up appts for my wife’s emergency eye surgery, so our year could be going better. It’s not as bad as last year so far, so we’ll take what we can get.
Man alive, I really feel like True Confessions should lessen the required word count. Okay. Anyone see Godzilla Minus One? Fantastic movie, the best Godzilla movie I’ve ever seen and I’ve been a G-fan since literally before I can remember. Go see it in the theaters if it’s playing near you. - StyxFiskRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just to preface I quite enjoyed the original so I was coming in with high hopes, and the first few chapters are already fantastic.
While this was already a really interesting premise and well written, this is coming off as more polished and structured in a way that feels more natural or realistic.
I am really excited to see where this goes, and would recommend anyone to give it a try as it’s definitely a strong start. - BlenheimRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The characters in this story have little depth. The MC is an orphan with little education who knows how to fight with daggers, yet his language and attitude is indistinguishable from those of his fellow delvers who are just NPCs filling out the numbers.
The dungeon so far has been repetitive and characterless.
Maybe it will get more interesting when numbers go up.
Would suggest some flashback chapters to add depth? - oxygen5011Royal Road★★★ 2.5The last chapters of story were so unresponsive and dull, I got a little sleepy. It doesn't show the flow of story but tells what happens. Fights lack immersion and vivid description. It's almost like a text at this point. Information is repetitive, rather than seeing the conversations about these masked individuals, I would like to get some progression. It was good at the beginning but become monotonous.
