Dungeon Devouring Devil

Description
Bo Houston had one week to bury his father, win a barbecue competition, and save his kneecaps from the loan sharks.
And he would have pulled off that hat trick, too, if it weren’t for those meddling devil invaders and their possessed brisket!
If unholy mana harvesters from another world weren’t bad enough, the Grail System has decided that Bo is the champion of his hex. Sure, that means awesome magical cards that let him do things he could have only imagined in his previous life.
But it also means enemy champions to defeat, a dungeon to conquer, and a host of magical beasties to clear out of his territory.
In thirty days.
If Bo fails, he’s a dead man and so is everyone else in his hex.
Wait, what's this business about a hex?
Dungeon Devouring Devil is a LitRPG magical apocalypse with deck building, medium-crunchy system stats, and a healthy smear of bad jokes.

- paintedspear1177Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5the writing is very well done. The pacing is a little off for me with the just being tossed in aspect. I do enjoy the cast of characters.
The characters think some things through which is nice and when a mistake occurs it's an organic thing not an idiot thing
good job alround looking foward to more chapters hopefull the author can keep up the pase - TheSpoonOfRealizationRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5It's a very well written fresh look at an apocalypse story. The main character is quite cool and fresh, quite different than the ones I usually read. There were a few things that I personally didn't really like but I'm not sure other readers would agree.
For style I gave it four stars because it's so fresh and the writing is quite good. There's some epic scenes that I really appreciated.
Story I rated lower because even though it's well written and creative, the main character is railroaded from one event to the next and send to have very little agency. He also is framed as a moral and good character but constantly lies which I found off-putting.
Grammar I have five stars because I found it quite well written and I never felt pulled out of the plot by any grammar or spelling errors, in fact the writing flows quite nicely.
Character was again lower because of the issues I had with the main character that I mentioned earlier. The other characters are kinda cool but don't really get developed as it's more about their interactions with the main character than them as separate individuals.
I feel like it's well worth giving this story a read and the card combat is quite interesting.
