Disclaimer:MC will not cultivate at an absurd speed. It'll end up being Wuxia-esque forat leasta hundred chapters before it turns into Xianxia / Xuanhuan. The end goal is immortality but it doesn't mean he has to get there quickly.
The MC won't have any real plot armor or cheats that let him win effortlessly. Expect him to get thrown around or just barely win frequently.Yes, this is not a Wish Fulfillment / Power Fantasy so if you're looking for a story like that, this might not be your cup of tea.

- TaxReligionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall a great story so far.
The first bit is a tournament arc that has a cool fight scene in it that is quite creative. Although it is a tournament arc, there is a lot of discussion as the rest of the story is set up. I really got into the story after chapter 3 where I think it picks up.
Style: The writing is clear and easy to understand. The only issue I had, and why I'm rating style 4.5/5, is that there was a lot of repetition of certain prose. I think in the 8 chapters I read, someone was described as floating like a piece of paper like 5 times. I'm not too familiar with cultivation/wuxia stories, so that might be a style choice, but to me that little thing was noticeable. Other than that, the style has a great flow.
Grammar: Great grammar and punctuation. There were only a few instances where I noticed something wrong, but it didn't interrupt the flow of narration in the least. Far above the average of RR. 5/5
Story score: A great story. The only problem I had was the first two chapters weren't as captivating as I would have liked. The 3rd chapter was great for capturing my attention, but before that, I wasn't as interested as I could have been. In addition, I think you can pretty much skip the first two chapters and still understand the story quite well. The story though is quite interesting. 4.5/5
Character Score: I liked the main character and his interactions with the shadow character. They are both distinct personalities and are easily understood and conform to their expected behaviours. Good Writing. 5/5 - Maverick26Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Grammar -
The grammar in this story is really good. I rarely noticed any mistakes with it.
Style -
The style of this story makes it so that there's lot of world building interwoven into it regularly. The author does it in a way where the world building is interesting, and it doesn't cause the story to be bogged down. The story also has a considerable amount of fight scenes which are very entertaining to read. There's a lot attention to detail put into the action of the story as well.
Story -
Not much has happened in the story so far, and I'm not really sure where it's going to go. However, what has been going in the story up to this point has been fairly interesting. A large portion of the story has been about battles. There are also some elements of the main character having to put on an act around high society which is neat to see.
Characters -
The main character has a unique goal that I don't often see protagonists have, and the small amount that has been revealed of his backstory is intriguing. Besides the main character, there are a lot of characters in the story with entertaining personalities with some of them having interesting hidden depths.
Overall -
Overall, I really liked the lore and action in this story. It was a very fun read. - S.N. KeirsteadRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Style: I'm not too familiar with Xianxia novels, but I have heard people discuss them and I understand that they have a very specific style due to the fact that they're typcially translated from Chinese. The writing style gets straight to the point; descriptions are there when needed, but action and verbage is placed at the forefront. The story (so far) progresses at a modest pace, giving the reader a brief glimpse into the world before thrusting readers into the action. How cultivation works is explained, both naturally through the dialogue, but for those that want a simplified version of how it works, the author also gives notes that give you a brief summary.
Grammar: Sentences get to the point. Grammar is spot on from what I can tell.
Story: Story jumps straight into a tournament. If you like those kind of arcs in other media, then the opening of this story is definitely for you. Beyond that, I'm not quite sure where this will go, but the author has big plans according to the blurb, so there is a lot to look forward to. The world itself has a lot of potential and the main character has a lot of potential for growth.
Character: Adrian has an interesting backstory (it's early on but I won't spoil it), and the relationship with his Shadow is an interesting take on the "hate each other but have to work together" concept. So far, those two and their interactions steal the show (along with the action between). The other characters haven't quite had time to develop yet though, so they could be more in-depth later on.
Summary: A fun read. From what I gather, it has that Xianxia style nailed down and has the potential to be a long-running story. Dreamers of Eternity is something that fans of the genre should keep an eye on. - SR FauthRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Let me preface this review by stating that I enjoyed what I read so far. It was a tad dry, but the story is not that developed yet. Some context could make the content up until now flourish in ways I just dont understand yet.
My review is meant to be honest, not harsh. PM me if you want to discuss other details. I am happy to chat!
With that being said ... let us begin:
- WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD -
STYLE SCORE: The style and setting of the world in Dreamers of Eternity centers around the Xuanhuan concept of immortality and progression through the Dao. The world is not extremely well defined, but I picked up on enough to piece together, more or less, what was going on in the world around the MC. Honestly? I would appreciate much more fleshing out of the world. It is not bad as it is, purely for the fact that it is incredably difficult as a reader to know how the Author sees the world. I read it as a bland place with more of a, 'passing througha small town on a 20 hour road trip', feeling rather than an epic tournament location where the futures of entire families are decided.
STORY SCORE: The story itself is built around the concept of immortality for the MC. Why? No idea. But that the goal. I am sure that this will be fleshed out going forward, but I just dont have enough information as of yet on the MC's needs, driving factors, or his mind set to make a determination. I hope that we can delve deep into his psyche and get to know more about the mind behind the madness.
GRAMMAR SCORE: I am going to be completely honest here. I copied each chapter into Google Docs because I had such a hard time following the story. While this helped me get a better handle on what was happening (a much larger screen to read), it also let me catch any grammar errors. And let me tell you, there were few. Very, very, few.
CHARACTER SCORE: The MC wants immortality and see's cultivation as his only path forward. Honestly, with the Shadow being an avaliable powerhouse that can upgrade the MC
